Interviews: Handsome Pants

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hard Rock band, Handsome Pants, from Canada. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

ANDREW: It was something my girlfriend called me and then I saw a racehorse with the same name so it seemed fitting. Also, it was sort of planned out we wanted something completely opposite of our last band Rapscallions

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

ANDREW: We didn’t pick this genre, we don’t edit what we write and play, we just write and this is how it happens. 

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

ANDREW: Yes, we all knew each other before we started this band. Jordan, Kyle and I were a part of a band called the Rapscallions a few years ago.

KYLE: Yes Jordan and I are brothers. CHUCK: Andrew and I are childhood friends. 

4. Each band member favourite band?

ANDREW: Alexisonfire (and also Handsome Pants)

JORDAN: Primus

KYLE: The Who

CHUCK: Steve Miller Band

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

ANDREW: Bad experiences and weird quirky thing that happen in life or odd things my friends say

JORDAN: John Entwistle I want to be able to be innovated and change the way people look at the bass guitar the way Entwistle did. 

CHUCK: Handsome pants itself inspires me to get into the music. It’s a privilege and honour to be a member of this band.

6. Where was your last gig?

ANDREW: The Old East 765 London, Ontario, also the same location of our next one. JORDAN: KYLE: CHUCK:

7. Where would you like to act?

ANDREW: For me I would like the CBGB Club, The Filmore, Fox Theater

JORDAN: The Molson Ample Theater 

CHUCK: Anywhere in Australia

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

ANDREW: Tea Party, Alexisonfire, any big Canadian act.

JORDAN: Any main Canadian Act. 

9. Whom not?

ANDREW: Foo Fighters

JORDAN: Jonas Brothers 

CHUCK: The Weekend

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

ANDREW: Poop your pants and jump in the water!

JORDAN: I still get stage fright with every performance. I just bite the bullet and do what I have to do

KYLE: Play drums so you can hide behind them

CHUCK: I am still learning to deal with stage fright….4 beers, 5 songs.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

ANDREW: Alexisonfire, Clutch, Mountainwolf.

JORDAN: The Who, Primus, Clutch, and Kiss.

KYLE: The who, Soundgarden, and Clutch.

CHUCK: Tom Petty, Steve Miller Band, Super Tramp.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

ANDREW: To play Alanis Morissette. 

KYLE: To use my drumsticks. 

13. What do you think of your fans?

ANDREW: They are amazing, we couldn’t ask for more. Their support has been great.  

14. What do you think of our site?

JORDAN: I like the way you give attention to the new up and coming bands of all various genera’s
