Interviews: Exterminated

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Brutal Death Metal band, Exterminated from the Philippines. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

I came up with the band name after I watched a documentary about World War II. Atrocities of war was the main idea why I chose the name Exterminated.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

The first time I got into Brutal Death Metal was because of a friend of mine who's into extreme music. He introduced me a lot of local bands such as Pus Vomit, Down From The Wound and Human Mastication and foreign bands like Deeds of Flesh, Disgorge, Devourment, Brodequin and Decrepit Birth. I was blown away when I heard those bands and it inspired me to form my own BDM band and to write our own material.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I started Exterminated as a one man band. I had two other band Guillotined and Anal Fissure prior to Exterminated. After I released my Demo 2016, I found a session drummer Giulio Galati of Hideous Divinity to fill up the skins for my EP "Elements of Obliteration". I was in hiatus for almost 3 years after the EP was released and when I got back, I decided to add Myke Pardo (Guillotined) to spew some guts for the upcoming debut album "The Genesis of Genocide".

4. Each band member favorite band?

Our all-time favorite bands are Cerebral Effusion, Disgorge, Brodequin, Decrepit Birth, Dying Fetus, Defeated Sanity, Orchidectomy, Septycal Gorge, Lust of Decay, Devourment and Suffocation.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

My fellow local bands inspired me to write new songs for the album. They were the reason why Exterminated came back during the pandemic. My passion and energy came back to what it was after I heard their materials.

6. Where was your last gig?

As far as I remember, our last show was at the release party of Anal Fissure.

7. Where would you like to act?

Have no idea as of the moment due to the current pandemic situation but if we are given the chance, we would like it to be overseas for us to experience a different culture and scene.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I have a dream to play with the sickest band on the planet. There's a lot to mention but it's definitely the bands listed on our favourite bands.

9. Whom not?

We can play with anyone as long as it's death/black/grind.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I believe it's normal for beginners to feel scared or nervous on stage. I felt the same way the first time I step on stage and it was a mixed emotion of nervousness and excitement. Once you're on stage, the best thing to do is to enjoy what you're playing and be proud of your own music. Don't think too much of what people will say about you or your music.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

The bands that inspired me the most are Down From The Wound, Pus Vomit, Human Mastication, Fatal Castration, Disgorge, Devourment, Defeated Sanity, Lust of Decay, Brodequin, Dying Fetus and Decrepit Birth.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing that I can think of.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We are very thankful for the fans who are supporting us. Without them, we are nothing. We are tirelessly writing some brutal music to the best we can so every fans can enjoy and entertained by our music.

14. What do you think of our site?

Everything is great and awesome! It's fantastic to see you guys supporting and promoting underground bands like ourselves. More power to Breathing the Core Zine!

15. Something to add?

First of all, we would like to thank you for this interview! Watch out for the upcoming debut album "The Genesis of Genocide" under Comatose Music! For more information, you can check the band page and label below.
