Interviews: Marble

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metal band, Marble from Italy. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

In the early days of the band we used to rehearse at our first drummer’s lab. He’s a marble worker and crafts headstones and tombstones for some local graveyards, so we always were surrounded by marble slabs and tombstones. It was a natural idea to choose that name for the band, plus we think it really fits the mood of our style.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Simply because it’s the music we listen to and love, we grew up listening to lots of different music genres, but metal can give you more stylistic variety and can give you a wide range of opportunities to express the ideas you want in the lyrics.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Omar, Daniel and Jacopo were friends since young age, from the same town, Mortara, Daniel met Paul in University and asked him to enter the band. Eleonora met Jacopo and Daniel through a group of historical re-enactment. Norman is the last member who joined and a fellow teacher of Paul in music school.

4. Each band member favourite band?

For Eleonora and Paul it is Iron Maiden. Omar is always in love with Nevermore, Jacopo is a prog enthusiast and loves P.F.M. (Premiata Forneria Marconi) a well known Italian ’70 prog rock band. Norman is the modern side of our influences and like the most Between The Buried and Me. Daniel swings between Sonata Arctica and some extreme metal, depending on the mood.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The will to create music to release our thoughts and ideas.

6. Where was your last gig?

We played years ago in a festival near Milan.

7. Where would you like to act?

There’s no place in particular, it would be great to bring our new music to as many people as possible. Maybe we can say Northern Europe would be a nice goal!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Oh, there are so many bands we would like to share the stage with. It would be a very long list.

9. Whom not?

Well, we think music is a form of art, so there are no limits.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

All of us played a lot of shows, Eleonora also is a theater actress, so we consider the stage like a room in our house, we love being up there. A tip for beginners is to have fun and enjoy what you’re doing, because the crowd down is watching you, and if you can share your joy in what you’re playing (or acting) they will be part of that. This way your performance will be successful.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

You know, the many differences in our backgrounds influence us on many levels so it is hard to answer these questions. You can find some melodic metal leak, mixed with a modern approach.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Ah ah, many years ago when we published our first record, during a show a guy asked us to sign a mastered copy of the record. It was so great we did it anyway.

13. What do you think of your fans?

The best we can, and we hope with our new record S.A.V.E. The fanbase will grow more and more.

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s an honor for us to be featured on BTC.

15. Something add?

In the first months of 2021 Sliptrick records will publish our brand new record called S.A.V.E. we hope you follow us on our social media @marbleheavymetal and facebook.com/marbleheavymetal for all the news regarding the records! And last: Remember to rock everyday! cheers from Italy!
