Interviews: Rollin Dice

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Heavy Rock band, Rollin Dice from Greece. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Our name came of the AC/DC song “Live Wire”. We didn’t actually plan it. We just love AC/DC. We were listening to that song and we thought it would fit nice.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Because we deeply love the ‘70s classic heavy rock era and we wanted to do our take on it. There are many modern bands now that do the same and are incredibly good, so we were inspired by the hype that brought the retro vibes to the front stage again.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Nope. We happened to meet each other and bond by becoming members of the band.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Antonis would surely say Deep Purple, John The Who, and Aggelos Queens of the Stone Age.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Everyday life problems, thoughts and dreams, series and movies and art in general. We want to talk about current things, constant questions and of course relationships. We want to portray the humane side of the things.

6. Where was your last gig?

Here in Athens, we opened for Iron Maiden and Volbeat at “Rockwave Festival” back in 2018. We haven’t performed since that day, because right after that gig, we had a serious health issue that prevented us from doing live performances and after overcoming this obstacle, the corona virus crisis came and changed our plans once more.

7. Where would you like to play?

We really like big open-air festivals. Their vibe is great and the crowd is positively overwhelming. Festivals like Download, Hellfest, Wacken, Sweden Rock and many others are the ones we dream to play one day.

8. Who would you like to support?

Certainly classic bands like Deep Purple, Blue Oyster Cult and AC/DC, but also fresh ones like Rival Sons, Blues Pills, Graveyard and Kadavar.

9. Who not?

Haven’t thought that. Maybe bands we don’t share the same aesthetic.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Thankfully not one us of has this kind of problem. However, we feel anxious every time we have to perform. But not in a dysfunctional way. To beginners we’d suggest to take a deep breath and delve deep into this magical world as fast as possible. The less you think about it, the better you become.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, The Who, Rush…the classics always hide many surprises in their discographies, so we tend to listen to them over and over and every time, we discover new stuff worth “borrowing”.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing weird at the moment. That’s the truth.

13. What do you think of your fans?

For the time being, we’ve met kind hearted and cool people. They seem to enjoy a lot our music and mostly our performances. It gives us a great boost, to know that while we are on-stage, we can make things work with the audience.

14. What do you think of our site?

You are very organized and seem to be doing an excellent job with underground bands, by giving them a much-needed boost. Keep on doing things the way you do!

15. Something to add?

We want to thank you for the invitation. We hope to be able to perform as soon as possible and see you people. Stay safe and be well!
