Interviews: Burn Down Eden

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Melodic Death Metal band, Burn Down Eden from Germany. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

When this whole band thing got more serious, the former band members and Tom decided that it´s time to have a band name already. So we opened some cans of beer and started brainstorming. We wanted a name that pictures the denial of the christian doctrine and the apocalyptic end of the modern world. In the end, the name Burn Down Eden was the perfect fit for that.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

First of all, we like the melodic and technical aspects of the genre as well as the dark nature that gives a lot of space for lyrical themes. But we don't want to put ourselves in a cage and are always willing to push our musical boundaries and incorporate of different musical nuances, like Thrash, Black or Neoclassical stuff. 

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

William and Tom know each other since their juvenile years. The song „Melodies of Memento“ from our 2nd album“Liberticidal“ gives a little glimps to their childhood. Marco was recruited via classified ads in 2016. Pether came to the band in 2018, when his old band „The Last Hangmen“ called it quits. Slaughterhead came out of drummer´s hell to push our drums to the limit.

Pether: Kalmah

William: Judas Priest

Tomte: The Black Dahlia Murder

Marco: Beyond Creation

Slaughterhead: Slipknot (First three LPs)

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Music theory and the abstract human nature.

6. Where was your last gig? 

Last gig was on January 12th, 2020 in Cottbus with Deserted Fear.

7. Where would you like to act? 

We would love to tour and perform in the US and Japan. Besides Germany those are the countries where we have the most listeners.

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

Rob Halford would be Iconic and a pretty interesting combination. 9. Whom not?  Asenblut!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

In the early days William suffered from stage fright because of the demanding playing of his Leadguitar Stuff. But he overcame it when the Band was on the first Tour. This was like Gig- Bootcamp and a very good experience at least playing wise. A Tip for beginners is the Rule of 3. Take a Shit, drink a Beer and warm up well.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

Gothenburg stuff like old in Flames an At the Gates for sure. Also, even if we are not on that level, more technical Bands like Arsis, First Fragment and Obscura. 

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Actually, there is not much weird stuff that would shock us.

13. What do you think of your fans? 

The Fans that hold the flag up high are pure gold. And on this spot we especially want to thank Alex B. who is probably the biggest BDE Maniac and who always supports us personally when we have transportation Issues. We Love you Dude!
