Interviews: Feed After Midnite

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hard Rock/Metal band, Feed After Midnite from Canada. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We had a show coming up but no band name. We were sitting around in the jam room going through Marc’s collection of 80’s memorabilia and found a Gremlins book, someone said Don’t feed after midnight, someone else said how about Feed after Midnight? We all agreed but decided on an alternate spelling for midnight.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Metal picked us! It’s just a natural extension of what influences us. The metal/Hard Rock genre is a common thread that ties us together so when we put the picks to the strings, it’s the sound that comes out. It was that or country.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Marc, Denis, and Yvon have been playing together since their teens. Dylan joined as the bassist when we first decided to form Feed After Midnite. Sean (drummer) joined us through an ad we had posted after parting ways with our previous drummer.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Marc (guitar) – A tie between Guns n roses and Faith no More

Denis (guitar) – Killswitch Engage

Yvon (vocals) – Faith no More

Dylan (bass) – Alice Cooper

Sean (drums) – Deftones

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The source of inspiration for us to write is the energy we create when we play together. The core of our songwriting process uses improvisation as a basis. We then refine the material that we created by jamming into more defined pieces from which we create a structure. After the structure is established we fill in the details. Usually, the lyrics/vocals are the last things done.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last show was on September 11 th, 2020 at Mavericks in Ottawa, Ontario. We shared the bill with 4 other great local bands. The show had limited tickets due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

7. Where would you like to act?

Playing an outdoor festival in Europe would be awesome. Pretty much anywhere around the world would be great.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We are not really picky about who we play with, the more the better.

9. Whom not?

We’re open to playing with anybody. Every show is an experience, good or bad.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Probably at first, you get nervous about pretty much everything, are people going to show up? are they going to hate us? do we suck?. For beginners, my advice would be to just be yourselves, who cares what people think, have fun, and relax.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Pretty much most of the bands we grew up listening to (Faith no More, Deftones, Metallica)

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? Nothing really. Maybe an autograph?

Like why do you need my signature? I’m normal like you.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are really awesome and supportive, without them we are nothing.

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s awesome, it’s nice to see lots of sites like this coming up, a good place for emerging and upcoming bands to gain exposure.

15. Something add?
