Interviews: The Rhubarb

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Stoner Metal/Doom Metal band, The Rhubarb from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Hello thanks for having us! It just sort of came out one day during a college break where we all studied and met haha, we were trying to find a name and I was telling them a fact about that movie extras constantly mouth ‘rhubarb’ in the back ground, then the rest of it is history!

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We love doom. However we love a lot of other styles and we feel like we mix a lot of your tastes with doom which sounds so unique. And plus it’s so fun to play on stage to and write haha!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We all met at music college in 2014 . Best thing that ever happened to me as we are now family to each other.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Michael- led zeppelin Hannah- the Beatles/ Hawkwind Maguire- the distillers Jack- foo fighters

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Oh, a lot inspires me and the boys to write especially sex, drink, politics and religion.

6. Where was your last gig?

It was in ivory blacks in February. It was a classic gig. Take me back!

7. Where would you like to play?

Oh, definitely the barrowlands in Glasgow . Dream big!

8. Who would you like to support?

Oh, uncle acid and the deadbeats or Hawkwind. Could you imagine that gig!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Normally when we have technical issues we get a bit nervous we’ve expedited that quite a lot but main this just tidally enjoy yourself. Imagine the crowds were facing the other way. That’s what I do.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Oh definitely black sabbath, monolord, the Beatles and beach boys. I could cry at how much I love these bands.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

For a dance at the cathouse haha

14. What do you think of our site?

We love it. So professional, such a great inside to great bands and music. Very good.
