Interviews: Sennight
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Progressive Metal band, Sennight from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
I can’t remember how I stumbled upon the word initially, but it’s an Old English word meaning a week or
seven nights. I’ve read that the ancient Celts measured time by nights instead of days, so I thought that
was an interesting superimposition.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Just to synthesize all of our loved musical influences into a new band. Melodic metal with the
big energy and emotion, what's not to like?
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
No, and we found each other through Craigslist, hilariously.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Adam – Katatonia, Kamelot
Trevor – Megadeth, Mastodon
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Sonically it is bands with a heavy melodic sound. Lyrically, various European mythologies and
folklore as well as personal struggles.
6. Where would you like to act?
Northern Europe
7. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Not severely but I would say practice the material really well, so the performance aspect is
automatic.
8. What bands have inspired you the most?
Kamelot, Katatonia, Opeth, Megadeth, old black and death metal.
9. What do you think of your fans?
Best people on planet earth.
10. What do you think of our site?
Excellent actually. Lots of interesting info on bands and the layout is great too.
