Interviews: Suntitle

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock/Emo band, Suntitle from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Joe started Pines, the band before Suntitle. We had member changes and realized that Pines was getting mixed up with other bands with Pines in it. As Pines we put out our first ep and had a song “suntitled”. That’s the short version haha!

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We like this genre we listen to a lot of bands in the emo world, rock world, and hardcore adjacent world. We grew up listening to these bands and songs.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I (Joe) have known Kyle and Dan since we all started bands in the same pocket of New Jersey, Pete joined my old band about halfway through, and we met Sean on a Suntitle Tour with his other band In Good Nature from MA. He filled in for Kyle on a tour and since then we have added him as 3rd guitar and vocals.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Joe – Title Fight

Peter – Switchfoot

Dan – Coheed and Cambria

Sean – Envy on the Coast

Kyle – Nirvana if I could guess

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Pete: It’s all emotion base, at least for me. Spurts of extreme creativity in between periods of rest

6. Where was your last gig?

Oaklyn NJ

7. Where would you like to act?

Texas and California, they both equally have really cool scenes, and we were welcomed openly. Shouts out to The Cactus House, Thomas, and Big Dog Booking.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We’d like to perform with bands like Drug Church, Microwave, Heart Attack Man, Modern Color.

9. Whom not?

Blood on the Dance floor

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Generally, not, when we play bigger shows, sure I definitely get the “butterflies”. Just play a lot of shows. It becomes muscle memory!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Title Fight, Basement, Saves the Day, Balance and Composure, Superheaven, and a lot of pop.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Pete: Someone asked me to buy a bass off of them and tour with it across the country. I wasn’t sure if it was sentimental or cash grab on their end.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are our friends, they support us, and we have good relationships with all of them, still being a smaller band really gives you the chance to get to know people.

14. What do you think of our site?

I honestly have never checked out the website, guess we are going to have to!

15. Something add?

We are leaving on January 3rd to record our first full length so that’s definitely exciting and make sure to stream “Pure Forever” you can find it on all the standard streaming platforms! Love you all!
