Interviews: Temple

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Stoner Metal/Doom Metal band, Temple from Sweden. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

In 2015 we had some beers from TEMPEL Brygghus in Uppsala, they have a very nice logo and I thought we should start a band called Temple. I looked around a bit but did not find a band with that name at the time..

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

It is something special to play slowly and heavily, it becomes groovy in a different way than when you play fast. Plus we're getting older so it just feels right.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, we have all played together since 2005 in the band Silver Devil. Everyone except Jimmy, we got to know him through his band Surfing In Hell.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Otto - Deftones Erik - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Marcus - Helmet Jimmy - Windhand

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Everything that has to do with life. You go through so many different stages in life so there is always something to write about. Right now, a lot of environmental thinking and life issues are being processed.

6. Where was your last gig?

The last gig with Silver Devil at the slaughterhouse in Stockholm on June 5, 2019. It really felt good.

7. Where would you like to act?

There is no special place like that, but the whole of Europe always feels interesting and most people are usually very involved in music and events. But most of all just want to get out and play in front of an audience again.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Whatever, as long as you are committed and humble, we would love to play with them.

9. Whom not?

All that is not like the answer before. There are too many hostile thoughts and opinions out there. We do not want to be a part of that.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We had a bassist a long time ago who had stage fright. But it went well after a cold beer and a pat on the back. So be sure to play with humble and people who respect who you are. Then it will go fantastic.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I really like Deftones so I get a lot of influence from their music. But we also listen to alot of Swedish bands like The Haunted, Cult of Luna and Khoma.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing strange yet

13. What do you think of your fans?

We haven't really met them yet, but I suspect that those who will like our music are really obsessed with the genre.

14. What do you think of our site?

Really cool, you seem to have got to a good site to spread alternative music. Continue with this amazing initiative, it is truly appreciated.

We will release our debut album "Funeral Planet" on November 25th along with ozium records. Check it out if you like the stoner/doom genre.
