Interviews: Duskwalker

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Heavy Metal/Death Metal band, Duskwalker from Canada. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We originally were called The Offering but we switched it to one of our song titles “Duskwalker” because we needed a new name quick.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Because heavy metal rules, obviously.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, we all knew each other for many years before finally solidifying the band. We all played in a few different other bands over the years.

4. Each band member favourite band?

John Robinson (guitars): Metallica

Cale Costello (drums): Gwar

Joey Scaringi (vocals): Black Sabbath

Matt Grabon (bass): Opeth

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

First of all sick riffs inspire us musically then usually something strange inspires the lyrics.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was our sold-out album release show at The Warehouse in St. Catharines, Ontario on November 23rd 2019. Yikes over a year now because of the pandemic.

7. Where would you like to act?

Anywhere the beer is good.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Let's say Gwar, that would be fun.

9. Whom not?

Our Lady Peace

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We’ve never had stage fright. As for a tip.. maybe have a drink first.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

That list could be endless but straight away the legends stick out first like Sabbath, Priest, Van Halen, Maiden, Motorhead, Then thrash stuff like Metallica, Pantera, Sepultura, and then old death metal like Death, Entombed, Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse and newer death metal like Archspire, Psycroptic, Obscura. We’re fans of grind, black metal and power metal.. add some Southern American metal too in there too.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing too crazy. Usually just a picture or sign something.

13. What do you think of your fans?

The fans are great. As fans, we know what it's like to love a band and we appreciate any support we get. The fans make a lot of the pains that come with playing in a band worth it.
