Interviews: A New Tomorrow

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hard Rock band, A New Tomorrow from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Before I had joined the band, one of the first songs the the band wrote was actually our track “A New Tomorrow”. The guys thought it could be a good band name and also was a good representation of the message held in a lot of our lyrics!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Previously Alessio had been playing in power metal bands and Andrea was from more of a punk background. When they formed the band they wanted to try something different and more aligned with a modern rock sound. The bands sound gradually evolved after I joined as I had been playing more progressive rock and even more so with Michael's modern tech-metal influence! We all love playing heavy, melodic music though, which is a theme that has stayed throughout the band's material.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Alessio and Andrea had been long time friends back in Italy and they moved to England with the original Italian drummer to make music in London. I joined after the drummer decided to move back to Italy in 2012 as my name got passed on from a friend of Alessio. Michael was actually a fan of the band and was a regular at the shows when the band first started out. A few years later, things hadn't worked out with our lead guitarist and we needed someone to fill in for some shows we played in the Ukraine. Michael did a great job stepping in, so we asked him to join afterwards and it's been a solid lineup ever since!

4. Each band member favourite band?

Alessio - Metallica

Andrea – Green Day

Mykey – Architects

Tim - TesseracT

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The main themes in our music are about overcoming obstacles and keeping dreams alive. People go through a lot in life and it's easy to get caught up in the negativity of world events these days. We're hoping the message in our music can encourage people to go live the lives they truly want to and to let go of whatever is it that may be holding them back!

6. Where was your last gig?

It was a rock festival at the Lounge 666 in Archway, London back in March 2020. A long time ago!

7. Where would you like to play?

With the live music world on hold at the moment, I think the chance to play anywhere at all would be amazing! We would love the chance to do a proper UK tour soon, especially as we never got a proper chance to play the new songs from our debut album 'Universe' (which came out in December 2019 via Frontiers Music) with this pandemic. Also we really want to go back to the Ukraine some day, as the shows we did there were incredible and the fans are so supportive!

8. Who would you like to support?

Some obvious big names like Alter Bridge or Foo Fighters would be insane! There are some great emerging bands on our label like Inglorious, which would also be super cool to support.

9. Who not?

Ariana Grande!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I don't think so actually! We had all played a lot in different bands before A New Tomorrow, so that certainly helped. My own advice would be as prepared as possible with your parts and be well rehearsed before the show. Also making sure that you have backups for any technical issues that may occur! Failing that, a nice cold beer usually helps!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We have so many influences between the four of us, particularly coming from different musical background. I really think the band's sound is a mixture of many of them.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

A used t-shirt!

13. What do you think of your fans?

We are always grateful for their on going support, particularly those that help run the fan clubs! I think for anyone to take the time to listen to your music is a real privilege and knowing that there are people out there that believe in what we do is what inspires us to keep going!

14. What do you think of our site?

It's so awesome that you are promoting many new bands and creating opportunities to do interviews just like this! Keep helping music get out there!

15. Something to add?

Thanks again for the opportunity to do this, especially as it's a tough time for bands without being able to perform live right now! You can check updates on what we are up to on our Official Website www.anewtomorrowband.com and our FB page www.facebook.com/anewtomorrowmusic. Hope to see you all around soon!
