Interviews: Scepter Of Eligos

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Doom Metal/Death Metal band, Scepter Of Eligos from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The band's name is based on Aliester Crowley’s description of Eligos, who appears holding a flag, a serpent and a scepter. Since a scepter is a symbol of power the Scepter of Eligos would be the symbol of the demon’s power.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We have been metal fanatics for a long time and it only seemed natural to start playing the music we love.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No, we met from a craigslist ad I posted when trying to form the band. Fortunately, we made a real connection through music and showed similar intentions for a band.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Andrew – Celtic Frost

Frank – Acid Bath

Chris – Black Sabbath

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our songs are inspired by chaos, death, and the formless infinity beyond all existence

6. Where was your last gig?

The last show we played was at Black Sky brewery two days before the covid shut-downs

7. Where would you like to act?

We would like to perform wherever we can, and we don’t act; we are authentic.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We fit nicely with any extreme metal artists, especially death metal or doom metal bands 9. Whom not? We don’t care much for nu-metal or screamo stuff

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I don’t believe any of us have, however in my experience playing lots of shit gigs can help take the pressure off

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Celtic Frost, Acid Bath, Entombed, Buzzoven, Coffins, Hawkwind, and Blasphemy

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We haven’t had many weird requests… yet. Someone asked me if we have 8-tracks but I think they were joking since we were selling cassettes.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We’re flattered to have people who care about seeing us live and not only listen to our music, but show it to others too!

14. What do you think of our site?

I think I need to read it more often to find out about new bands!

15. Something add?

There is no authority but yourself, Hail Chaos!
