Interviews: Seasons

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band, Seasons Fate from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Mark: It first came to mind of a former member as something that sounded cool but as we progressed it took on a new meaning as each member brings a different skill, sound or “season” to the mix.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Mark: It’s my favorite to listen to and play. All of my favorite bands are metalcore. It’s easy to play what you enjoy.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Randall (Sykes, vocalist) and Matt (Poe, bassist) have known each other since Middle School and have played in multiple bands before in the past. They are the only two members of Seasons who knew each other before the band existed. They knew of Mark (Spivey, guitar) who was hired during a lineup change in 2019. Nick (Gober-Keller, guitar) knew of Seasons from his involvement in the Richmond, Virginia music scene and he sent in his audition tape when he found out they needed a guitar player. The band auditioned him and he was hired in February of 2020. All four of these members knew of Josh (Woolcott, drums) from his playing in another Richmond-based metal band called Rest Aside. He reached out when he found out Seasons was looking for a drummer and after one practice we knew this was the right lineup.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Nick – Motley Crue, Led Zeppelin

Mark- Wage War, Attila

Matt- Sevendust

Randall- AC/DC

Joshua- Lamb of God

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Mark: For me, it’s usually fueled by all sorts of emotions like most musicians. When I wrote guitar parts I have a melody for the guitar and vocal part playing in my head and then just figure out how to make the guitar do what is in my head.

6. Where was your last gig?

Band: We played our last gig at a place called Another Round bar and Grill which is in Richmond, VA. It’s got a cool stage and has sort of an old school rock club feel. It’s an awesome place to play.

7. Where would you like to act?

Mark: the Norva and the National for sure.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

It would be really cool to collaborate musically with either Wage War, Attila, or Halsey. This band has been influenced a lot by both of those bands. We actually did a metal cover of Haley’s “3 AM” so getting to do a collaboration with her would be really exciting.

9. Whom not?

No answer

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Mark: Not really I'm a pretty shy individual but for some reason I feel pretty confident behind guitar. For anybody who suffers from stage fright, the best advice I have is to face that fear. Go to open mic nights or play in front of your friends. Take any opportunity to play in front of a live audience and over time you will beat the stage fright.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Mark: A7x, Jason richardson, wage war,Attila, Atreyu (Nick) Motley Crue, Slipknot, KISS.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Mark: Most of our fans don’t ask all that much of us but we did have a fan drive from Florida with a show with hot sauce called Satan's Blood. Matt (Poe, Bass) was the only one to try it, and it didn’t look like it was much fun lol.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are incredible. Sometimes we will play a show and people will come from hundreds of miles away to see us play. Its truly humbling to know that somebody is willing to travel so far just to see us. That kind of thing is motivation for us to put on the best show we possibly can.

14. What do you think of our site?

We think it’s awesome! I think it’s great that there is a site that gives bands such great exposure.

15. Something add?

Nick-With live shows being put on hold for the time-being, it seems like the music world is living on the internet and social media. That being said, check us out on facebook, youtube, instagram, Twitter, and Tiktok. We’re pushing content out to those sites like we never have before. There is tons of stuff on there that the music fans will love!
