Interviews: Diseased Earth

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Sludge Metal band, Diseased Earth from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

The name Diseased Earth came from our bassist. it basically summed up our view of humanity and how we are a plague to this planet and destroy it with our ignorance and hubris.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We just wanted to play some heavy, aggressive music without any boundaries or borders.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Joe and Travis are the original members, and as others have left, we met Clayton and Paul along the way. I believe this is our peak lineup. We are all on the same page and want the same things and none of us have an ego.

4. Each band member's favourite band? 

It's so hard to just pick one favorite band, as we all listen to different things.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our guitarist Paul said it best, we play music to keep the sad away. Music is a huge stress release for us and we just play music because we are compelled to play it.

6. Where was your last gig? 

It was in Manassas, VA. it was a benefit for the area food bank.

7. Where would you like to perform?

We just love to play. We have performed everywhere from clubs to dive bars to even in someone's kitchen once. all we care about is that there's a PA and some people who wanna hear some heavy tunes.

8. Whom would you like to perform with? 

We have made a lot of friend bands along the way and always enjoy playing with them. As far as bigger bands, we would love to get to play with Crowbar again and also Thou.

9. Whom not? 

Any band that supports racism, sexism, or any kind of bigotry. we do not support any of that stuff.

10. Any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

All of us have a small bit of nerves from time to time, but that minute that first note hits, it all goes away and we are in the zone. The best way to get over it is just to do it. don't think, just go.

11. What bands have inspired you the most? 

It's really hard to pick a few bands that have inspired us, because we have so many different influences across multiple genres. We take some influence from bands like Thou, Crowbar, Corrosion of Conformity, but we also take influence from punk, grind, death metal. just all across the board of metal and heavy music.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

We’ve never had anything too weird. Most have been very standard requests.

13. What do you think of your fans? 

We love our fans, they are amazing and show so much love and support and we appreciate the hell out of them

We just dropped a new single “Coven of Leeches” that's available on all streaming platforms, as well as bandcamp. We are recording again soon, as well as several other things in the works.
