Interviews: Hollow Storm
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hard Rock band, Hollow Storm from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
We started off with a different band name, but the name was trademarked by someone else so we ended up having to change our name. We basically picked a load of names that had the same initials as our previous name and narrowed it down hahaha. Sheldon’s fun fact of the day for you, we share our name with a side mission in Gears of War 5.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
We didn’t really… We basically fell into it as it’s the middle ground for all the music we take inspiration from
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yes! Jack, Aiden and Dylan are all related, and Sheldon worked at the studio everyone practiced in.
4. Each band members favourite band?
Sheldon: Killswitch Engage
Aiden: While She Sleeps
Jack: Tremonti
Dylan: Decade
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
To be honest, the music and lyrics are about how we feel at the time of writing, but we also like to jam and pick riffs out of stuff we’ve improvised and then build from there.
6. Where was your last gig?
We did a Halloween live stream for our Facebook page from Redwall Studios in Bury.
7. Where would you like to play?
Our aim is to play the main stage at Download
8. Who would you like to support?
Tremonti and Black Stone Cherry
9. Who not?
Killswitch & Sylosis (just to annoy Sheldon)
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
The only one of us who does is our singer Jack, and tips for beginners, just push yourself, it’s never as bad as you think… and remember… have fun!
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Killswitch Engage, Alter Bridge and Black Stone Cherry mainly
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Can we do a calendar shoot
13. What do you think of your fans?
We love our parents
14. What do you think of our site?
We like the way you push underground bands, it’s a massive help for bands like ourselves
