Interviews: Sepulchre Of Man

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Symphonic Death Metal band, Sepulchre Of Man from South Africa. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

I've always wanted to do a concept band and so we toyed around with names that had to do with our concept - the end of humanity. Sepulchre is a fancy way of saying grave or tomb so we figured it would be cool to call ourselves Sepulchre Of Man.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We want to create a massive soundscape as a three piece band. There's no better way to do that than incorporating orchestral elements. We're all fans of death metal and we're all fans of bands that include symphonic elements so it made sense that we started a symphonic death/black metal band.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes. This band is technically a supergroup with members from bands from the local scene.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Alec (vocals/bass): Septicflesh Dave (drums): Megadeth Simon (guitars/backing vocals): Korn

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Lyrically, I'm inspired by epic fantasy and horror. Musically, we're inspired by melodic death metal and symphonic black metal bands. 6. Where was your last gig? Covid and lockdowns have prevented us from playing shows so we're focusing on our album for now.

7. Where would you like to act?

We'd just to perform internationally. If that's at a festival or if it's at some bars - that's the goal.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We'd love to have Andy Gillion (Mors Principium Est) jam a solo for us.

9. Whom not?

No one really.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Nerves are natural. Generally when the music kicks in then all of the practice and hard work pays off and you just go into automatic mode.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Septicflesh, Dimmu Borgir, Carach Angren, Megadeth, Korn, Shadow Of Intent, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Hypocrisy, Mors Principium Est, Insomnium, Dark Tranquillity

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

The boring answer but the truth is nothing really. South African's aren't really like that.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We're super appreciative of their support and we think they're amazing.

14. What do you think of our site?

Very professional and well laid out. Nice \m/
