Interviews: Snær

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Black Metal band, Snær from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Joseph Doome says “I was reading about Norse history and read about King named Snaer who was the personification of Snow and thought it would be the perfect name for our band because I wanted to pay homage to the Norse history in Blackmetal and wanted to connect it with Maine, both have lots of snow!”

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Joe Doome says “Blackmetal is my favorite form of metal. I also like Death metal, thrash and Doom. All my influences have gone into this band, but mostly blackmetal as it is what I listen to 90% of the time” Jeff “Doome invited me and I thought we could do something worthwhile. To me Black Metal is the most metal of all metal!”

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Joseph Doome says “Jeff and I had been in several bands together and I wanted him in the band because he has a way of conveying emotion with his leads. When a position opened up, he joined up. Conrad had played at my festival I host, “Doom Days of Summer” and we knew each other. After going though many drummers he tried out and got the job. He is a good fit for the band.”

4. Each band member favorite band?

Joseph Doome says “Black Sabbath” Conrad “Mercyful Fate/King Diamond “ Jeff “Venom”

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Joseph Doome says “Maine and the cold spirt that is in this land. Also the hopeful extermination of the human race through secret magick.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was a great show at Geno's in Portland ME 02/01/2020, just before the pandemic hit.

7. Where would you like to act?

We would .like to play shows all over the world, especially in Scandinavian and Europe.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

There are so many great Blackmetal bands we would be honored to share the stage with. To pick one is impossible.

9. Whom not?

We would not want to play with disingenuous bands. If the bands have integrity, even if not in our genre we will play with them

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

No on the stage fright. Of course we all get the adrenaline running and anxious for a good show, but we transcend into a different dimension when on stage. Advice? Joseph Doome “Just do it and do it genuinely and all will be great.” Conrad “Best advice I can give is to focus on your instrument until it and your bandmates are the only thing you can see/hear, then the crowd doesn't seem so big and terrifying. “ Jeff “No”

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Joeseph Doome says “ Mayhem,Taake, Sargeist, Horna, Gaahl's Wyrd Nordjevel, Uada to list a few Besides really loving their music, these bands bring it hard with their stage precense and showmanship in a honest and genuine way.” Conrad “Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, King Diamond/Mercyful Fate, Metallica, Strapping Young Lad “

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Joseph Doome says “This dude asked me if we could have a 'play date' once. I told him “DIE...OVENS”

13. What do you think of your fans?

We appreciate anyone who enjoys our music and shows.

14. What do you think of our site?

Great site giving bands like us an opportunity to show what we are all about!

15. Something add?

Keep supporting the bands you like. This fucking pandemic will be over eventually and Snaer will be coming to your city to freeze your SOULS!!!!!!!
