Interviews: Colorize

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Post-Hardcore band, Colorize from Spain. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The name was something that struggled us because we changed it a few weeks before the band was born, the list of possible names was huge and Javi (Singer/Guitarist) said 'Colorize' and everyone liked that.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

As musicians, we came from the Post-Hardcore/Metalcore scene and we always wanted to make this genre of music, but more melodically.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes! Javi, Héctor and Garry know each other since school and Jezz met the band one year before it was formed.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Javi: Shawn James

Héctor: Phil Collins

Jezz: Tool

Garry: Foo Fighters

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Personal experiences, the way we feel about them and how they can bring both the best and worst of each one of us makes us want to write those stories and share them with our music. That's the main inspiration.

6. Where was your last gig?

None, due to the COVID situation we didn't get to play a show yet.

7. Where would you like to act?

As an early objective, we want to play on the biggest festivals in our country, like 'Resurrection Fest' or 'Download Fest'. We hope to achieve this and start thinking about bigger places.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We would love to feature with 'Caleb Shomo' (Beartooth), 'Courtney LaPlante' (Spiritbox) and Sebastian Murphy (Viagra Boys).

9. Whom not?

Idk... Nickelback?

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Yes, all of us. The best thing to fight the stage fright its practice with your band, make yourself comfortable around all the members and knowing they will be there for you if something goes wrong.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We have a few bands but the most inspiring ones for us are 'Beartooth', 'Dayseeker' and 'Norma Jean'

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Due to our short life as a band we haven't expierenced that... yet.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We are really grateful for our fanbase, they have been really supportive since day one and very patient with us as a band.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's great! Having the opportunity to interview smaller/bigger bands it's wonderful, there's a bunch of music genres to explore!

15. Something to add?

Right now we are composing new music, so stay tuned for new songs and, hopefully, new shows!
