Interviews: Fallen At Dawn

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Post-Hardcore band, Fallen At Dawn from Spain. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The original lineup was formed from members of different projects that were about to come to light and yet it didn't feel right so they left their respective projects to form this new one which they called "Fallen At Dawn".

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We never set ourselves to do a specific genre and to this day we keep that filosofy, we love to do whatever that gets us pumped and for now that's definitely metal.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Well, we knew some members beforehand since we were sharing a rehearsal room with them before they joined the band but for the most part we met on auditions or via online while looking for a band or looking for a new member.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Jimmy Sixx: Bad Omens

Alberto: Architects

Denny: Oceans Ate Alaska

Fede: Wage War

Unannounced Bass Player: Periphery

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

There's no feeling like playing a brand new song with your friends and having that hype to share it with the rest of the world so I think that's our biggest motivation while writing new music but sure there are a lot of bands that we look up to and help to find that inspiration.

6. Where was your last gig?

It was in our hometown, Madrid, in which we shared the stage with two awesome bands and very good friends of ours "Sobretodo Nombre" & "Threats". Sadly that was long ago but that only makes us much more anxious to get on the stage again and share all the new music we've been making.

7. Where would you like to act?

EVERYWHERE. We're eager to play all around the world in either big or small venues we're just looking at sharing all we've got with everyone that might be interested. We're currently looking for a States tour as well as a Japan tour.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Joshua Landon from Redeem Revive, Jonny Craig, Flo from Landmvrks or Sam Carter to name a few.

9. Whom not?

Well, it doesn't matter how talented you are if you're not a good fit for the song so I guess that anyone who doesn't fit the song wouldn't want the feature anyways regardless of what a big name they might have

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Yes, I think all of us had stage fright at some point. You could be presenting a new song, you could have someone watching your show for marketing purposes and the nerves sure can get to you. Our advice is just to embrace that fright, that means you really care for what you're doing so get all that energy and put it on the stage, make what you love and have a great time, by the time you hit your first note that gets on the past and you just enjoy the moment.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

This could be a never ending list since I think every single band any of us has ever listened to has inspired us or at the very least has shown us what we don't want to do, so we always get something back from it. Our favourite bands are a good starting point though.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

From all the things we could be asked to sign having to sign a forehead sure it's one of the weirdest.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Awesome, they're just awesome. It is because of them that we can still do what we do and I think we enjoy one of the very best fan bases anyone could have, they're always supportive, involved and help us get the very best of us.

14. What do you think of our site?

I think more now than ever that this site is what the music industry needs. We're all going through rough times without knowing when it's going to get better so a site that makes it easier for bands to get known, keeps people informed and keeps music alive is what we all need right now. It is needed and it is appreciated.

15. Something to add?

We wanted to thank Breathing The Core for this interview and for all the work that's behind the site and remind everyone that even though times are tough it's being connected and helping each other out what can make a difference for everyone.
