Interviews: Nahaya

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Thrash Metal/Death Metal band, Nahaya from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that? 

It is a name that comes of Arabic origin. Semir and past member Ryan came up with this idea. The meaning of Nahaya in Arabic translates to "The end"

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Founding members of the band were mainly influenced by Gothenburg sound mixed with American thrash metal. Throughout the years the sound we have procured has evolved.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

We were all friends prior when the band was formed.

4. Each band member favourite band? 

Jake: Mount Shrine

John: Swallow the sun

Daniel: Steely Dan

Semir: In flames

David: Cradle of Filth

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Jake writes the lyrics to our music. Danny is the main writer for strings.We all have added a little of our own flavor to this album. Our main source of inspiration is the love of our music and finding a connection for it to be shared with the world.

6. Where was your last gig?

Austin Texas, March of 2020 right before the pandemic hit the US. It was in a venue called Come and Take it Productions. We played a gig with Fall, Dawn of dissolution and Death will tremble.

7. Where would you like to act?

A dream of ours would definitely be able to play Wacken. We were national finalists at the battle of the bands in LA. It was a bittersweet moment to taste the possibility of representing our band in Europe.

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

Sylosis, The Haunted, Soilwork, Darkest Hour and Mors Ssubita, Black Dahlia Murder

9. Whom not? 

We wouldn't pass a huge opportunity to play with mostly anyone, but we would like to keep it in a similar genre range.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that? 

None of us have ever face stage fright. However, a tip that could be used is to practice in front of a mirror.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Nevermore, In Flames, Black Dahlia Murder, Dimmu Borgir, Carnal forge, Hatesphere, Katatonia and Opeth

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

There was a fan önce who asked one of the members of the band to send an inappropriate video to her.

13. What do you think of your fans?

The fan base for this genre is unique and friendly which makes them well connected to each other and other bands of the same genre.

Serious note, as Nahaya is beginning this next chapter as a band we cannot wait for what the future has.
