Interviews: Next Door To Heaven

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Progressive Metalcore band, Next Door To Heaven from Russia. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The name just came out like that years ago.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

This genre or genres, to be correct, give musicians an opportunity to be more open to different ideas and mix everything together.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Me and Gene knew each other and even got married before forming the band, but before that, we were already experienced, musicians. Gene also knew our bassist.

4. Each band member favourite band?

No one of us has ever been a fan of one band. I’d say we love what a lot of bands/artists of different genres and subgenres of rock, metal, pop, classic music, soul, rap do, but we’ve never been fans of anyone.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

People - both good and bad, nature, poetry, the world in general.

6. Where was your last gig?

In Saint Petersburg right before everything that happened in the world in February- March 2020.

7. Where would you like to act?

In Australia, Canada and Japan.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Speaking of vocalists to feature with I’d prefer good baritone voices.

9. Whom not?

Any people not inclined musically.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Not really but we always feel responsibility before playing gigs so we’re trying to check everything that’s possible to check on our side and prepare ourselves to look and sound powerful on stage.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

It depends on the period of time in my life. Speaking of the time when I first started a band (I was 14) these bands probably were Dream Theater, Guano Apes, Korn, Entwine. Right now everything is different.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Our fans are usually very nice people and they only ask for normal things like congrats on their birthdays, autographs etc.

13. What do you think of your fans?

I’m grateful for having them and proud that most of them are not only interested in music, but also in charity, helping homeless people and animals. Most of them care. So do I.

14. What do you think of our site?

It looks cool. Keep improving. There’s no limit to perfection.

15. Something to add?

Hoping everything gets back to normal soon and we start playing gigs worldwide again.
