Interviews: ODEUM DEUS

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metal band, ODEUM DEUS from Sweden. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We played for a long time under the name Fist Fight but since there were other bands with that name we figured we'd look for something different. Börna came up with a bunch of names in latin that sounded menacing and we chose Odium Deus (Evil God). Somewhere in the haze it got misspelled and there was no turning back. Now it's Odeum Deus (God's Theater).

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

It's actually not us wanting to play it, but Satan.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Putte has been in it since the start and it's been pieced together bit by bit. We've got to know each other quite well now.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Putte: Morbid Angel

Börna: AC/DC

Piotr: Pink Floyd

Hampus: Deep Purple

Fredrik: Entrails

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

It comes from the depths below. We regularly do the rituals necessary.

6. Where was your last gig?

We played this place called "Magasinet" in our town Nyköping. We've played there before and we'll play there again.

7. Where would you like to act?

The Crypt in Linköping. Call us. And the boat 70.000 tons of Metal. 8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Snoop Dogg.

9. Whom not?

Volbeat.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Stage fright is easily subdued with large quantities of alcohol. Your playing will most likely suffer and the next time you might be so ashamed of the last performance that an even larger amount of hard liquor will be required. The tour will be done before you know it.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We've heard from some people that we sound like Black Sabbath. Since the whole metal world has sprouted from there, it's a great honor to be reminiscent of them. Old school Swedish bands like Unleashed and Entombed are also bright stars on the dark metal sky with which we navigate.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing really weird has come from them, they've been very respectable. Cool people.

13. What do you think of your fans?

The fans are everything!

14. What do you think of our site?

Great site! A pleasure to be featured here. Delightfully straight-forward and well filled. You probably got all of the sub-genres haha.
