Interviews: Where The Oceans Fall

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band, Where The Oceans Fall from Spain. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The main idea of the name came of what we want to transmit. The idea of the "ocean" was really attractive because of its contrast, the water is agressive and very quiet deppending of the tide...and that ́s is the core of the band, we need to share a very aggressive atmosphere in our songs but we can also be very sensitive.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

All the members of the band have had another projects of other genres, metalcore was the way to express all the things we can ́t in the other musical adventures of all the guys, so...it was a really easy decision.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yeah, Iván, Diego and Juan know each other for eight or seven years, the other band members appeared meanwhile the band begans to grow.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Is a pretty difficult question because we have a lot of bands that we like and of very different genres, but reducing in our style, our favourite bands are: Polaris, As I Lay Dying, Wage War, Parkway Drive, Crystal Lake and Architects.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Another difficult question. Is hard to say who or what inspire us...we admire a lot of enormous musicians like Ryan Siew or Tom Searle who really made an impact on us. The current world situation also is a very important inspiration, all the things that are happening around the world, injustice, social media, anger or sadness...but most importantly our own experience day by day.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was here in Madrid, a year ago before this pandemic situation. It was the first gig in home since our first album "Attitude" was released, after visit Valencia, Murcia and Castellon. We played in Khitai club, a nice venue in the center of Madrid, with our friends of Hiranya and Blaze Out. It was a really stressy day, but we almost reach the sold out! so it was nice!

7. Where would you like to act?

The dream is Resurrection Fest!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Polaris or Parkway Drive!

9. Whom not?

It would be an honor to play with any band!!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I think not...we have a really nice attitude before, after and during the show. The most complicated situation was in our last fest, Granito Rock, but we really had a stunning attitude and we break the stage in front of 4000 px. You have to believe in yourself, the rest is easy if you have play a lot in the rehearsal room and you believe in your band mates!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Right now or main inspirations are Polaris, Architects, Crystal Lake and Novelists. 

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Hmmm...I think we don ́t have any weird anecdote, our fans are really nice!

13. What do you think of your fans?

They ́re the best, we have a lot of people that follow us in our tour...and see some known faces in far places is the best!

14. What do you think of our site?

Is fucking great! a lot of content, really nice interface and design and a lot of info of the bands subdivided by genre, is really cool!!
