Interviews: Bulletproof Messenger

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Rock band, Bulletproof Messenger from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Well, we used to be called Gone to Earth, and it neverreally meant anything...so we werethrowing around ideas for a more meaningful name, and we were toying with the phrase “don’tshoot the messenger” (in reference to how bands/musiccarries a message) and it was prettymuch an immediate “YES!” - Voley

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We didn’t really choose the genre - our sound justwound up being the sum of all our influences, I guess.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Some of us did, yes. And then we met some others aswe coalesced into the group we have now.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Voley - Type O Negative

Scott - Tom Petty

Jesse - Huey Lewis and The News

Marcus - Pink Floyd

Matt - Prodigy

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Hearing other new music that we like, or hearing somethingthat maybe inspires you to create something newthat you wouldn’t have thought of before, or, justlife in general. Sometimes getting away from writingfor a bit“fills up the tank” so to speak when you get backto it.

6. Where was your last gig?

Gramercy Theatre, NYC.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I’d love to share the stage with Rammstein, or BringMe The Horizon, or even one of the OGsfrom back in the day, like Limp Bizkit.

9. Whom not?

I guess anyone not in our genre? Sharing the billwith a mandolin-driven folk group would be a strangeshow tobe sure.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright?Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Not really. If you have nerves, you just have to make it past that first song and you settle in. But it’s like KeithRichards would say - when it’s time to go on, it’stime to go on, and you either choke, fall over, oryou don’t.But really, it’s all about just settling in afterthat first song.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Over the years there’s been way too many to list -but I think for most of us, it was definitely a lotof 90s rock.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever askedyou for?

In Montreal - “Please take off pants.” We all lookat them sideways. “But I said please.”

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are some of the best people out there, with thebest taste in music, and are extremely well-endowed.

14. What do you think of our site?

It looks like a dope place to discover some new awesomemusic! Looks like you guys really dig the heavy, and so do we. This one band looks like it has wolves aspets in their group picture - we REALLY like that.

15. Something you'd like to add?

Please give us a listen, and please follow us if youdig our music - Spotify, Twitch or socials, it allgoes a longway towards helping us make more music for you guys!
