Interviews: From The Depth

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metal band, From The Depth from Italy. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

As a band and as a group of friends, we shared a lot of things together, and everything we did in the past will always have a place in our hearts. We can say that “From The Depth” is the perfect name for our band, we play from the heart.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We’ve always been fans of melodic and fast heavy music, even if we all come from different musical backgrounds our “roots” are the same. Writing power metal songs is the most natural thing for us, it’s just what we like to write. Let’s put it this way: we don’t know how to write music but power metal!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Most of us, we were friends before starting the band, we like to think about this as a peculiar property of the band.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

That’s a tough one, let’s try to give some names anyway:

Raffo: Judas Priest

Santo: Savatage

Jump: Metallica

Simo: H.E.A.T.

Cristiano: Queen

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We like to talk about ourselves and our feelings in our songs. Both music and lyrics are always inspired by personal matters, maybe it’s because for us it’s a way to internalize what is happening to our lives day by day.

6. Where was your last gig?

Oh man, we really miss the stage, this pandemic thing is gone way beyond any worst case scenario. Anyway, our last gig was in Parma, we shared the stage with Rhapsody of Fire’s singer Giacomo Voli, what a blast!

7. Where would you like to act?

Everywhere there’s good people and good vibes. We just like to play live and enjoy the moment!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Hard to tell, but sharing the stage with big names is always great, we supported many bands in the past, such as Primal Fear, Geoff Tate, Dragonforce, Sonata Arctica and others. It would be great to share the stage with as many bands as possible!

9. Whom not?

Honestly, if you play and kill it on stage, we like you, and we would be proud to share the stage with you.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We all know the struggle that sometimes you have to face when it’s time to go out and play on stage, but the most important thing is to have fun. Really, there’s no trick involved, you just need to have fun while playing and enjoy the moment, your band mates will notice it and the fun will be double!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We all grew up listening to a huge amount of bands, but we think that every single one contributed to our way of writing music, it’s hard to tell which specific band.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We did quite a lot of crazy things especially during the after shows: when you had some drinks and maybe you had too much! But honestly we have incredible fans, it’s not what they could ask us for, but it’s what we can do with them as a group of friends!

13. What do you think of your fans?

We like to share time with our fans, we really respect them, for us a fan it’s more like a friend. We like to hang out and have a beer together and talk about anything, we like to create relationships with them. Our fans are the best ones.

14. What do you think of our site?

Very nice indeed! A lot of content and interviews and interesting bands, what else can you look for in a heavy metal website?!?

15. Something to add?

Thank you very much for this interview and thank you all for reading it and sharing some time with us, we really can’t wait to see you all on stage once this whole pandemic thing will be over. See you on stage!
