Interviews: Inception

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Deathcore band, Inception from Spain. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Chus: The band name was not planned, the word just simply came to my mind.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We started playing this genre because it fits better with our ideals as a band than playing metalcore, that’s why we changed our sound with the incorporation of our 2 vocalists, who are deathcore lovers.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Some members are family, others are lifelong friends and others joined the band 2 years ago but we are like a big family at last.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Chus: I don’t have a favorite band, every band I like inspires me.

Pablo: Cattle Decapitation, they are my favorite band of all time, I discovered them when I was 16 years old and ‘till now, they’ll always be my favorite.

Adri: TesseracT, their drummer is fucking awesome!

Alex: Architects, their lyrics means a lot for me.

Rodri: Thy Art is Murder and Kvelertak, their instrumentals inspire me so much. -

Jacho: I listen to so many genres so it's really difficult for me to have a favorite.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

For the instrumental parts: Lorna Shore, Fit for an Autopsy and Angelmaker

For the lyrics and vocals: Cattle Decapitation, A Night In Texas, Angelmaker, Despised Icon...

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was here in Castellón in January, the last year.

7. Where would you like to act?

Definitely, we would love to play in a festival with a lot of bands similar to our genre like Resurrection Fest.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We would love to collaborate with many vocalists of the spanish deathcore scene, like Counteractt, Chains Of Agony, Mankind Grief, Bonecarver, Thirteen Bled Promises… And internationally we would love to collaborate with David Simonich of Signs of the Swarm, Tom Barber from Chelsea Grin and many more, they are countless!

9. Whom not?

We are open to collaborate with a lot of artists, unless they are racists, misogynists or homophobic, those have no place in our music.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

We think everyone is a bit nervous when the show is about to start, but it’s normal, that means that we all want to do our best! Some advice we could give for beginners is to keep calm, everybody can make a mistake and it’s not a big deal, just do your best and enjoy the show!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Angelmaker, Lorna Shore and Cattle Decapitation are our biggest inspirations.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Here in Castellón, deathcore bands are not common and some dudes in a show, tell us to play a song of Pantera.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are everything! We make the music because we love it, but it’s awesome to see all the feedback and the good response from the fans, it only makes us want to do more music!

14. What do you think of our site?

We think that it's really interesting to see all the variety of underground bands that you help to make more visible, we really like it!

15. Something to add?

We want to say thank you to Breathing The Core for helping us reach out to more people and announce that we have more music on the way, so keep an eye on our social media in the upcoming months!
