Interviews: Trendkill

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the  Metal band,
Trendkill from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We were called sanctuary when we done our first gig, we didn’t have a name and when they asked for our name our vocalist just came up with it, can’t say it stuck for long because just after that we became TrendKill, after Pantera’s album the greatest southern trendkill.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

I think we don’t really define ourselves to one genre as such, we play metal but it’s not just thrash or just groove, our sound is a blend of each. I guess we just all love metal and want to make good music.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Corey, Isaac and Jonny all knew each other, we all were in the same friend group and our schools were close together. Ali joined after we departed ways without vocalist Elliot and it’s all just fell into place.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Corey - Gojira

Ali - Sylosis

Jonny - Pantera

Isaac - Metallica

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I guess just life inspires us, past experiences, what's going on in the world or just a general concept we all like.

6.Where was your last gig?

Good question... With covid it’s hard to remember! Possibly Trillians in Newcastle, the best venue.

7. Where would you like to play?

Absolutely everywhere! We just love gigging and we can't wait to get on the road.

8.Who would you like to support?

Obviously, we'd love to support our idols, but that may not be possible for some time haha. At the moment we'd love to support some upcoming UK bands and some re-emerging bands like Evile.

9. Who not?

Probably Motley crue, I think Alistair would be jealous of Vince Neil's vocal ability.. Not.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I think at the start we all did, its completely strange performing on stage and especially if you’re not the most confident in your ability. I think you need to just really practice your craft, be confident in it, remember to just have fun and try and create something for the audience that's unique since a live show is never the same as the next.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

There are so many, from the big bands to the small bands, to list them would be an extremely long list.. Do you have all day? Haha. We all have our own influences but i think predominantly the big 4.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We'd rather not say...

13. What do you think of your fans?

We absolutely love them, they're the heart and soul of the band and without them we couldn't do what we do really. They inspire us to get better and do more, it's all for the fans.

14. What do you think of our site?

We think it’s great! There's so much good content to read!

15. Something to add?

Well, our single obsession is out 30th
