Track By Tracks: Evil Impulse - The Brotherhood (2020)

1. Son Of The Devil:

[ESP] Un riff pesado y oscuro abre paso a una melodía de voz que embauca durante todo el tema, cabalga entre el doom y el groove más característico de Evil Impulse con una sensación de ir a más a cada segundo, hasta que la canción explota en una batería contundente y un riff demoledor dando paso a un solo de guitarra que desemboca de nuevo en el cariz más doom que hasta ahora ha demostrado Evil Impulse, una canción soberbia justa para abrir The Brotherhood.

[ENG] A heavy and dark riff gives way to a vocal melody that deludes throughout the song, rides between the doom and the most characteristic groove of Evil Impulse with a feeling of going higher with every second, until the song explodes into a drums forceful and a devastating riff giving way to a guitar solo that ends again in the most doom aspect that Evil Impulse has shown so far, a superb song just to open “The Brotherhood”

2. Chained Shadow:

[ESP] Nos encontramos ante el single de Evil Impulse en este nuevo trabajo, de nuevo arranca con un riff demoledor donde batería y bajo van haciendo un juego de in crescendo hasta que la canción explota en una voz rasgada y gutural bien entremezclada con unos riffs muy thrasher que la lleva a desembocar en uno de los mejores estribillos de Evil Impulse en toda su carrera, una canción que conjuga muy bien esos dos estilos que maneja la banda a la perfección, el groove y el thrash metal y que se te mete en el cerebelo por semanas.

[ENG] We find ourselves before the Evil Impulse single in this new work, again it starts with a devastating riff where drums and bass go in a crescendo game until the song explodes in a ragged and guttural voice well mixed with very thrasher riffs that leads it to lead to one of the best Evil Impulse choruses in their entire career, a song that combines very well those two styles that the band handles perfectly, groove and thrash metal and that gets into your cerebellum for weeks.

3. Uppercut:

[ESP] Como bien dice su significado, es un buen golpe, una canción directa y sin complejos. Una sección rítmica de bajo y baterías que pueden volcar cualquier tabique de hormigón, cabalgan sobre unos riffs que cortan la respiración. Volvemos a encontrarnos con una voz versátil que conjuga a la perfección melodías y guturales, las guitarras hacen gala de un sonido impecable sin dar descanso alguno y unos arreglos brutales. Otra muestra más de la clase que tiene Evil Impulse a la hora de poner sus cartas boca arriba.

[ENG] As its meaning says, it is a good hit, a direct and unapologetic song. A rhythm section of bass and drums that can topple any concrete wall, riding on breathtaking riffs. We meet again with a versatile voice that perfectly combines melodies and gutturals, the guitars show off an impeccable sound without giving any rest and some brutal arrangements. Another sample of the kind that Evil Impulse has when it comes to putting his cards face up.

4. The Brotherhood Of Hell:

[ESP] El registro cambia, las guitarras se vuelven más abiertas, acordes más oscuros, comienza un solo de guitarra por parte de Oscar Portela (amigo de la banda) con un matiz extraordinario de guitarras dobladas, seguidamente volvemos de nuevo a los riffs cortantes y bases contundentes sobre voces guturales que desembocan en un nuevo estribillo melódico que no te quitas de la cabeza fácilmente, detalles de guitarra y solos con un gusto extraordinario, sin hacer alarde de absolutamente nada, solo del buen gusto a la hora de crear.

5. Lone Wolf:

[ESP] Sin duda, si hasta aquí te estaba enganchando, con Lone Wolf directamente te vuelan la cabeza. Death Metal de alto octanaje con riffs vertiginosos y con cierto matiz progresivo, baterías aplastantes jugando con blast beat y dobles bombos, arreglos de guitarras y solos para recalcar de nuevo el buen gusto a la hora de crear, una línea de bajo contundente y todo aderezado con más voces versátiles, guturales y melódicas, y con un estribillo...que qué pedazo de estribillo, mejor es escucharlo.

6. Even Flow (Pearl Jam Cover):

[ESP] Respetando mucho a la original, la canción crece en hormonas, sin hacer experimentos raros ni “originales” la canción podría pasar perfectamente por un tema propio de la banda, siguen desarrollando un sonido brutal y limpio y eso hace que una canción como Even Flow a manos de Evil Impulse gane en potencia y en sabor a groove metal.

[ENG] Respecting the original very much, the song grows in hormones, without doing strange or "original" experiments, the song could perfectly pass for a theme of the band, they continue to develop a brutal and clean sound and that makes a song like Even Flow a Evil Impulse hands gain in power and groove metal flavor.

7.Everlasting:

[ESP] De nuevo, la banda hace gala de su buen hacer a la hora de crear canciones propias, con unos riffs de nuevo marca de la casa y un desarrollo muy polivalente por parte de la voz, vuelven a demostrar, energía, potencia y gancho. Everlasting tiene todos los ingredientes Evil Impulse, un cóctel de metal, groove/thrash con un estribillo pegadizo y de nuevo unos solos marcados por el buen gusto.

[ENG] Once again, the band shows their good work when creating their own songs, with some brand-new riffs and a very versatile development on the part of the voice, they once again demonstrate energy, power and hook. Everlasting has all the Evil Impulse ingredients, a metal, groove / thrash cocktail with a catchy chorus and again some solos punctuated by good taste.
