Interviews: Deadwolff

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Heavy Rock band,
Deadwolff from Canada. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Tommy: The name Deadwolff came pretty naturally. I was driving home from work trying to think of cool band names, and that popped into my head. I was holding onto that name for nearly a year and a half before bobby and I had gotten down to business.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Tommy: I wanted to play this genre because it’s fun, loud, heavy, yet catchy. Simple as that. It’s hard to place Deadwolff in one certain genre, though, so we made up our own. The new wave of heavy rock and roll.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Bobby:  Tommy and I met about a year before the band started. He is good friends with my Roommate Nick, who introduced us a short while after I moved into the free room in Nicks's apartment.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Tommy: Favorite bands are always a hard choice, but if we had to narrow em’ down, Bobby’s would be Judas priest. The Police have always been my favorite band, but recently I’ve been listening to a lot more Triumph and Tank. And Raw has always been really big into Thin Lizzy. Though these might a few of our favorite bands, our writing inspirations come from all over the place.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Tommy: Our songs are inspired mostly by life experiences. We like to write and sing about what we know. What we can relate to.

6. Where was your last gig?

Tommy: Unfortunately, we have yet to play anywhere due to covid. We finally got our act together when covid hit, so we’ve been using this time to our advantage. Shows and tours are currently being planned and booked. Expect a full-on attack.

7. Where would you like to act?

Bobby:  I'd love to see us play CBGBs just because I've always wanted to play there as a kid growing up. It's legendary in the rock and metal world so who wouldn't want to. Unfortunately, it's closed, but that's always been a dream gig.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Tommy: I’d have to say that touring with Haunt or Midnight would be really cool. Not unrealistic, either. Great bands, in their prime, with great tunes.

9. Whom not?

Tommy: I’d have to say that if the bill didn’t really fit, then we wouldn’t be fully about touring with whomever. Can’t be too far off the genre, y'know?

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Bobby:  On my first club gig I was so nervous I barely moved. My tip would be to forget about what anyone thinks of you while you are up there and just do your thing. Let the music speak for itself.

Bobby: Sunglasses never hurt either, hahaha.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Tommy: Honestly, it’s so spread out it’s hard to narrow it down, but some of the higher ones up there are definitely Judas Priest and Motorhead.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Tommy: We recently had some guy ask for a signed cassette. That was pretty cool. We haven’t been a band for long, so the weird questions haven’t quite arrived.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Bobby: I think our fans rule. To know people dig the tunes we are writing is awesome. They are from all walks of rock. Mullets and or bullet belts. We welcome them all and can't wait to play for each and every one of them.

14. What do you think of our site?

Tommy: The site seems pretty right on! It’s super cool you’re helping give new and emerging bands a chance to get their voice out and be heard, and we thank you.

15. Something to add?

Tommy: Something to add…hmm.. sure. Listen to Deadwolff. Haha. The new wave of heavy rock and roll comin’ atchya.
