Interviews: INNER CODE

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Electronic Metalcore/Metalcore band, INNER CODE from Italy. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you come up with the idea for the band name, did you plan it or did it just come out like that?

We've it planned. We held several meetings to find a concept that appealed to each of us and represented us. Each of us has a strong individuality, a special encoding, an Inner Code in fact, which resides unique and never completely decipherable in every person.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

It wasn't a real choice. Our genre comes from the spontaneous and free union of our different styles. We started with drum'n'bass, and ended up playing experimental metalcore.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Some of us had already played together on other projects. Other old comrades from the history university. We all found ourselves in the right place at the right time.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Daniele - Death

Francesco - Nine Inch Nails

Jago - Fear Factory

Simone - Lamb of God

Michael - Polaris

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We draw inspiration from the life we live, from the great philosophers, from history and culture in general. We also like to know how the world works, understand the fears of those who live there, and translate them into music

6. Where was your last concert?

As Inner Code we haven't done any live yet. In Italy, COVID has hit the music world hard.

7. Where would you like to act?

Wherever there's even a single listener ready to live or die for our music.

8. Who would you like to participate with?

Opening a concert to a historic metalcore group like Killswitch Engage or As I Lay Dying would be great.

9. Who is not?

Let's just say Justin Bieber isn't one of our favorite artists.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any beginner tips on how to beat him?

Sure. The moments before stepping on stage are often the most dramatic. A lot of tension builds up, and the advice we give is to be compact, empathize with the other members of the band, leaning on each other with as much humanity as possible. "Whatever happens, we're together."

11. Which bands inspired you the most?

Crossfaith have been a source of strong inspiration for everyone: they are among the few who have managed to combine electronics with "bad metal", always remaining very catchy and musical.

12. What's the strangest thing a fan has ever asked you?

A fan asked us to be whipped while we were playing...and it's important for us to make our fans happy...

13. What do you think of your fans?

They're mostly beautiful people, first of all. People with their own depths, with their Inner Code. Confront with them is always a great enrichment.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's an apocalyptic site guys! We like the division by genre, very well done and useful for meeting new bands.

15. Anything to add?

Careful to free ourselves from the constraints of the pandemic...we're more evil than COVID!
