Interviews: Our Last Enemy

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Industrial Metal band, Our Last Enemy from Australia. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Matt our Bass Player one night saw an old movie with some one saying: Death is Our Last Enemy. From there it stuck and the rest is history.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

I love all kinds of Metal but my favourite is Industrial Metal and with my influences, I was instantly drawn to this band.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I only knew/met Oliver (Our Singer) before the band was formed. Years ago through another friend, I was in another Industrial Metal Band and we where trying out singers. Along came Silver, had an awesome jam and then that was it, I didn’t see him again. Haha Don’t know what happened.

4. Each band member favourite band?

I guess it is safe to say, we are all big fans of Fear Factory, Korn & Slipknot & Gojira. There are so many to name and for different reasons. I could be here all day listing our favourite bands.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Movies, especially Horror films with some significant stories. To me, it sets the mood and like a building block and I go from there.

6. Where was your last gig?

Due to COVID ass fucking the planet, our last gig was at Crowbar playing with Perturbator. That was an awesome gig, a great crowd, and was sold out.

7. Where would you like to act?

I would love to play in any major festival in Europe or in the US, gigs like: Download, Bloodstock, Resurrection Fest, Wacken and so many more!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Gojira, Korn, Slipknot, Slayer, Mudvayne, Devildriver and so many more!

9. Whom not?

Post Malone, Justin Bieber and all those posers that don’t use any real instruments!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Yes, all the time! Its natural and somewhat exciting. Everyone deals with it in their own way. I try not to think about it and keep busy. But sometimes, you are left waiting for hours until its time to play. My tips are, deep breaths, a drink or 2 to calm some nerves, push ups, sit ups, pad warm ups and making jokes haha.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Ok, this is a long one. Ever since I have seen Korn the first time on MTV watching their music video: Freak on a Leash, I was like; this is what I need to do in life. I have discovered my purpose. That is what got me into Nu-Metal then I discovered Slipknot which was the line between Nu-Metal and Metal. From there just discovering all kinds of metal and appreciating all kinds. For Drums, my biggest inspirations came from Joey Jordison for speed, David Silveria to bash the fuck out of the drums, Raymond Herrera for being tight and technical with the kicks and finally Danny Carey for opening my Third Eye!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

To Sign my signature on their back to then getting a tattoo of my signature! Nuts!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Love them and very thankful.

14. What do you think of our site?

Love it, Love how you have so much genres and placing the right bands for the genres. Great work!

15. Something to add?

One day when COVID gets board of fucking humanity over and shit gets back to normal, we will be on the road again soon and hope to see you all there! Keep the love in the Metal community and keep listening to Metal!!
