Interviews: Silent Knight

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Power Metal/Heavy Metal band,
Silent Knight from Australia. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We were originally going with a name like Silent Apparition as I thought that was pretty cool. Our original vocalist who was from Europe said the word was a bit confusing and as we wanted to get into the Euro market perhaps we should change it. I thought of it a while longer and Silent Knight popped into my head and I thought it was catchy and a cool pun and the other guys liked it so we went with it.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Power Metal, especially German PM bands are some of my favourites and I love the energy that comes from listening to those songs so it was only natural that I would want to write songs and start a band in this style.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I had met Cam (lead guitar) not long prior to starting the band. He wanted me to join his thrash band Cold Fate and I wanted to start Silent Knight. He helped put solos on the original demos and enjoyed it enough to want to join and write songs too.

4. Each band member favourite band?

I don’t think the guys can narrow it down to 1 favourite each but we all have our own Top Picks playlists on our Spotify page with a whole bunch of tracks if you’re interested in knowing what each member enjoys.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Musically, it’s just good quality, high energy bands. Lyrically it’s sometimes fiction and sometimes based on real life stuff and world events and sometimes its inside stories used metaphorically that only we know.

6. Where was your last gig?

We played our 10th anniversary show on April 17 in our hometown of Perth, Australia. It was the longest set we’ve ever played and performed almost every song we have ever recorded.

7. Where would you like to act?

We loved playing in Germany so a full Euro tour or some more festivals would be great!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I would love to tour with bands like Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth or Helloween to name just a few.

9. Whom not?

Probably some hip hop/rnb artists or country bands haha

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Never. We are all super confident on stage and all know our parts and rely on everyone else to do the same. Be certain in yourself and your ability and go out and do what you love. If you enjoy yourself, people will see that and be drawn in.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Helloween & Iced Earth. That’s the best way to describe the songs I write

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

I’m really not sure, nothing too crazy yet but there’s always time!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are amazing. Its so great seeing so many turn out for our shows, especially when its opening for an international act and the place is filled with people wearing SK t-shirts! We love hearing from fans all around the world and look forward to meeting you all.

14. What do you think of our site?

It looks really comprehensive and a great collection of articles on many bands. Nice work!

15. Something to add?

There is a tonne of Silent Knight coming this year so make sure to follow our social media page for new videos, singles and the new album! We look forward to seeing you all on the road as soon as the world is back to normal!
