Interviews: Artio

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock/Pop band, Artio from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Artio is the name of the Celtic goddess of bears and death. We wanted a name that was feminine and powerful, three syllables (easily changeable) and the fact it started with an A was a cheeky bonus, always at the top of alphabetical lineups!

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We wanted to create music that our younger selves would’ve loved, we wanted to do an ode to the music that made us want to become musicians.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, we’ve all known each other for a few years now, supporting each others earlier bands, playing the same gig circuit and all being into the same bands.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Hol: PVRIS

Rob: Bring Me The Horizon

Ieuan: Periphery

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Anything and everything.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last show was a sold out Headline and The Wardrobe in Leeds.

7. Where would you like to act?

We’d like to play shows everywhere.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Dream Wife or Nova Twins would be a dream.

9. Whom not?

We would be excited to work with anyone who shared our same love and passion for making art.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Even if you’re scared, look up once in a while. Before you know it the show will be over, take it all in. Lean into fear but don’t let it control you. This is your moment.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I think collectively, Paramore.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

If Hol would steal their nipples. I will give you no context. Do with that information what you will.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love them, we couldn’t do what we love without them listening to it. Thanks guys.

14. What do you think of our site?

Pretty groovy.

15. Something to add?

Hol’s dog coughing is the snare in Queen Cobra.
