Interviews: Rebel Priest

We have had the opportunity to interview the Rock 'N' Roll band Rebel Priest from Canada. Check out the interview and follow the band on their  FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It´s always so hard coming up with band names and agreeing on one, there were many suggestions in the early days of the band but at some point, Rebel Priest was the one that stuck, the one that beat them all out.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

I’ve loved hard rock and heavy metal since I was a teen, and not much has changed. It’s fun music for fun people, and I love doing it!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yeah, we all knew each other from previous bands and were all mutual friends; known each other for years in some cases.

4. Each band member favourite band?

I’d guess Jayme would say Motorhead, Nate would be Deep Purple, and myself ? Motley Crue maybe?

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

There are too many good writers to list, but we take our experiences from life and put them together from there.

6. Where was your last gig?

Brittania Beach! what a trip, had no idea what to expect and it was a total BLAST!!

7. Where would you like to act?

All over, we’re just excited the world is starting to open back up. We’re looking at all the possibilities

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Maybe something crazy like Def Leppard or Ratt?

9. Whom not?

We tend to avoid shows we wouldn’t want to play… so..

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Not usually, but I’d say push through and get yourself out there doing it. The fun of doing it will be so overwhelmingly awesome, you won’t even be thinking about being scared anymore.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I’m big on a lot of 70s and 80s rock and metal bands; there was a realness about them that made the whole thing more approachable compared to how things have been done in the last 10/20 years.

12. What’s the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

To carry our stuff, gear is heavy and as a musician, you tend to dread the classic bit of moving it around to and from gigs. So when someone actually wants to do it!! HA!

13. What do you think of your fans?

They’re the best, we couldn’t be doing what we do without them supporting us and bands like us… keep being awesome!

14. What do you think of our site?

Pretty cool stuff, I like what you guys are doing!

15. Something to add?

Be on the lookout for more music and shows later this year, we might be in a town near you!
