Interviews: Disbeliever

We have had the opportunity to interview the  Gothic Metal band Disbeliever from Italy. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or come out just like that?

The idea of the band name was not thought of, but it came as a natural consequence of what we wanted to treat as themes and sounds, with them we wanted to transport the listener into a world of research and inner reflection not only stopping at what is on the surface, therefore not to "believe" in what you see and to go further, because there is always an explanation or a reason.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

As for the name, it was a succession of sensations, for what we felt and what we wanted to express with our music, which then led us to certain sounds and certain melodies to define us gothic.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

The three founding members of the group (Andy, Juri and Sacha), of which the last two are brothers, already knew each other and had another musical project together, while the other two current members (Robby and M4RT3) joined later.

4. Each band member favorite band?

The curious fact is what then contradicts our sound and that we come from different musical experiences so our predicted bands diverge, for our lead guitarist Juri they are Paradise Lost, for the drummer Sacha they are Metallica, for the rhythm guitarist Robby they are Avantasia, for the singer M4RT3 they are Pink Floyd and for the bassist Andy they are Iron Maiden.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We try to be ourselves and not be influenced by others, we always put our soul and our energy when we write a piece. Each song was written with a feeling in the hope that it involves and transmits this feeling to the listeners, moreover each member of the group comes from their own musical path that has shaped their musical tastes over time, these experiences have helped to make what we are unique.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last concert was this summer in our hometown in Pisa, it was really hot, but this didn't discourage the audience from coming, it was a really fun evening full of surprises, unforgettable.

7. Where would you like to act?

To tell the truth we don't have a real favorite stage or on which we want to play ardently, but it would not be bad to get to play on the main stage of a great international metal festival like Wacken.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Sure we have bands we would like to play with like the leaders of the genre (Paradise Lost, Katatonia, and others), but since we come from different genres the personal bands we would like to play with differ from each other.

9. Whom not?

We do not have any group with which we regret or would not want to play, because we think that every form of music is equally valid, obviously we would have more pleasure to play in an evening with similar bands to us, than to play with a group in which the audience and genre differ greatly.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Fortunately, none of us suffer or have suffered from stage panic, obviously a little bit of anxiety mixed with excitement always remains, but that is also the beauty of going up on a stage to play, the important thing is that all the fear, tension and anxiety become energy and adrenaline. We do not feel like giving advice that is too targeted, also because each of us has his own way of calming down and avoiding panic, what we can say, however, is to always be decisive and put all of ourselves into what we do.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

As we have already answered in a previous question, we try to be ourselves and not to be influenced by others groups or musicians, although each of us is influenced by our own musical background.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Fortunately, we have never had strange or too particular requests, at most once a very die-hard fan of ours he asked us from abroad for all our autographed merch.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We are grateful to our funs and to the people who listen to us, because it is thanks to them that we are progressing and going higher and higher, then it is really nice to know that where we put everything we like and is listened to.

14. What do you think of our site?

Honestly, we did not know the site of www.breathingthecore.com, but after a first glance we realized that truly a world not only of curiosity, but also of music from bands from all over the world. We will certainly continue to follow him in the future.

15. Something to add?

We add that we are very grateful and thank Breathing The Core, for the opportunity it is giving us with this interview.
