Interviews: THE SWAGGERLIES

We have had the opportunity to interview the Hard Rock band THE SWAGGERLIES from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or come out just like that?

It's just something we were kicking around one day and it stuck!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

It's just how the songs came out- big guitars and songs that are somewhat fast. It's the kind of music we all grew up listening to and it's kind of in our bones

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I knew Ron Heathman and Jeromy Leonard when the band started and I knew Rob through mutual friends. When Captain Ron Stohr came on board, he, Jeromy and Rob were all playing together in a FEAR tribute band but I didn't know him until he joined the band.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

For me it's The Replacements, Rob loves Bad Religion, Jeromy is a huge FEAR fan and Captain Ron loves The Clash

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I get inspiration from all sorts of places and people. It's hard to pinpoint just one, really.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last show was at a little dive bar here in Seattle called Darrell's Tavern. One of the best venues in town!

7. Where would you like to act?

I've never wanted to act

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

If you mean who would we like to play with I'd say the bands we all really love are long since broken up but for those who are still around- AC/DC, The Kids (Belgian punk rock legends), Bad Religion, Judas Priest, FEAR, Guns n Roses, Amyl and The Sniffers, The Hellacopters, Dirty Honey, Krokus

9. Whom not?

Kid Rock

10. Any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Usually, a shot of whiskey or tequila will cure stage fright!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Ramones, Replacements, Motorhead, AC/DC, Steve Earle, Fastway, Krokus and a bunch local Seattle bands like The Shaken Growlers, Cheap Cassettes, Zeke, early Supersuckers

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing comes to mind.

13. What do you think of your fans?

I think our fans are rad!

14. What do you think of our site?

I was just made aware of your site and I dig it!

15. Something to add?

Go out and support original music in your town and don't forget to rock n roll!
