Interviews About Albums: Daimos - Prism (2021)

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

The Daimos debut album Prism was released on October 31th 2021 and is a very special album, because every song has a different genre of rock and metal. There are more than twenty musicians, who joined me to make each of the songs sound even more unique.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

The meaning of the name Prism is about the variety of the songs, which are nevertheless part of a whole and belong together.

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

My name is Frieder Braune. I composed the songs, wrote most of the lyrics, and played electric guitar.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

I think it would be the last song Home. It's the longest and most artistic song in a style of progressive Rock. Besides the typical rock instrumentation, there are also classical instruments that give Home something very epochal.

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

The message is the different worlds that are all interconnected. The album reflects different situations of real life. Everyone experiences it from their own perspective, with different feelings. And yet we are all connected.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

There is a lyric video for The Hunt that I'd love to share. Vocalist Veri Jumala of Sorrownight sang it and also helped write the lyrics. It's a very special song because of the powerful style. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4GgXolH31E

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

The inspirations that have influenced me the most come from life. Ups and downs like everyone experiences them. Musically, I've been inspired by a lot of bands from different genres, including Arch Enemy, Dream Theater and Blues Saraceno. My special thanks to my girlfriend who gave me a lot of input and feedback.

8. Something to add?

I'm glad to talk with you about the album and hope we can repeat this, as soon as the next chapter of Daimos is ready.
