Interviews: Brooklane

This is a new interview with the Pop Punk band Brooklane from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name?

The name of our band came to be because it was a street name in a small town that we all used to hang out at and figured it was fitting since that is where our story began.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We all grew up listening to pop-punk. There was no doubt after watching bands like New Found Glory, Simple Plan, and Fall Out Boy back in the day that we wanted to play this type of music for the rest of our lives! As pop-punk progressed into what it is today, our love for it grew even stronger. It’s a huge part of our lives and means everything to us.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes, Alex was in a Easycore band called Buckle Up Amelia back in 2014, and we loved it. We actually showed up to their practice space to buy tickets to their show and we all became best friends from that very moment. We all ended up moving into the same house together and formed a couple bands until we decided that Brooklane was the one we wanted to pursue.

4. What is each band member's favorite band?

Alex: Neck Deep

Damon: Broadside

Lucas: Daggermouth

Chance: The Story So Far

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

A lot of our inspiration comes from bands like Neck Deep, The Story So Far, WSTR, State Champs, as well as the new era of pop-punk. Lyrically, we draw inspiration from relationships and past experiences that we think a lot of people can relate to

6. Where was your last gig?

The Original Bar & NightClub in Minot, ND with No Resolve.

7. Where would you like to perform?

Riot Fest, Self Help, SXSW, So What?! & Warped Tour.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Ben Barlow of Neck Deep, Bonnie Fraser of Stand Atlantic, Parker Cannon of The Story So Far, & Derek Discanio of State Champs.

9. Whom not?

Montgomery Gentry

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

I don’t think any of us have suffered from stage fright, but we do get super nervous over our gear working properly more than anything. I guess our advice is to just get out there and have fun. If you mess up, you mess up. Play it off with a smile and don’t take it to heart, you can’t win them all!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Neck Deep, The Story So Far, WSTR & State Champs.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

For my gum that I was already chewing.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Man, I could write a book about how wonderful our fans are! They are the most supportive and genuine people that we have ever gotten the privilege to be in front of. They have been with us for every step of the way and we are so grateful to all of them for that!

14. What do you think of our site?

We love it! It's a great place to discover new artists and bands.

15. Is there anything else you would like to add?

We want to thank you for interviewing us and we cannot wait to get out on the road and start playing shows!!! We want to thank our fans again for the continued support and for being the best humans on this planet!
