Interviews: SHE BURNS RED

This is a new interview with the Rock band SHE BURNS RED from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

It's completely random. I would love it if there was a story behind it but sadly it's just a name we conjured up.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

What genre? We hear so many different influences in our songs that I don't think we are one exact genre. People have said we have that kind of 90s grunge element - which may be why we've been likened to the Foo Fighters on occasion.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I and James have known each other for years from being in different bands in the same area. I found Naz on Facebook replying to a band in Glasgow looking for a guitarist, I did some stalking and saw a couple of videos with him playing and decided "you're not joining that bandmate, you're joining us" luckily he liked us, would have been pretty awkward if he didn't. A mutual friend of ours and Scott told us on the down-low he had left his last band and again luckily he liked us so it all worked out pretty well. The chemistry between these four members is like nothing before. Quite magical and a lot of fun to hang out together.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Andy, Deftones James, Danko Jones Scott & Naz, Guns N'Roses.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Personal experiences and emotions. Sometimes everyday things and situations can fill a notebook with words. Just hearing someone say something odd or weird can plant a seed. We are not exactly a "let's write about partying hard" band. As much as we do enjoy it after the show.

6. Where was your last gig?

It was at Riverside, Newcastle. Excellent venue, with incredible sound & lighting engineers. It was pretty packed for a Sunday night. The one before that was as special guests to Wayward Sons at KKs in Wolverhampton.

7. Where would you like to play?

Download Festival because I go every year with a big group of friends so it's a really special place for me. However, Bloodstock, Wacken & Hellfest are also high up on that list.

8. Who would you like to support?

We have so much fun sharing a show with our buddies South of Salem, and going out with Wayward Sons or Massive Wagons would be wonderful. If we scaled it up a few notches I think I would have said Foo Fighters a month or so back

9. Who not?

Hard to say... we'd support Beyonce if she asked us! And paid well.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Not so much stage fright but I do get really nervous, butterflies in my stomach, and all that, but I think that’s a good thing, It’s the excitement brewing into adrenaline... and means you're getting a kick-ass SBR show. I guess for advice I would say you have done all the hours of practice, trust the process and go for it!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

So many, probably too many to mention. Foo Fighters are definitely up there. Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Deftones. I could go on forever...

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We played a small festival in Scotland a couple of years ago, as I was packing up my stuff James turned and handed me one of our setlists a guy wanted to be signed, I never noticed but I'd split my finger open during the gig. As I signed it, I bled all over it, I said to the guy "sorry mate, let me go and replace that for you' he was like "no, I'll keep that one" I was a bit sick in my mouth.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We absolutely love them, they're our friends. A band is absolutely nothing without fans in front of them. They inspire us every day. We genuinely can't wait to hit the road to meet up with all our friends.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's amazing, I like the fact it’s not stuck on one genre or even country. There's definitely a lot to discover.

15. Something to add?

If you like our new single please tell a friend, especially if he/she's a radio DJ. Come to our shows. Come say hi afterward. We're always out front after we've played and love meeting everyone
