Interviews: SINNRS

This is a new interview with the Black Metal/Death Metal/Orchestra band SINNRS from Denmark. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

Mostly it just came up. It was during the process of another band we determent that we needed a change and thus SINNRS came up. It represents our music better and the ideology behind the band - suits us better.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Couldn´t handle the banjo, haha... No seriously: It's a personal outlet - positive powertrip composing and playing metal music. Never knowing where the next album takes you - that creative process, I would never miss out on it. We take the music very seriously - also when performing live. It's not just 4 people standing on the scene, playing music - there´s more to it, than that, for us. A metal genre is a remarkable place. Looking at all the talented people who are tributing and playing within this scene.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes. We go long way back - playing in other bands. SINNRS will be the last bastion for us - we´ve found our path, and gonna keep to that.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Should we pick just a small amount it would be I personal love Type O Negative. And we´re both total into Dissection and Death. Total suckers for anything regarding the 60-80és.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Difficult to say. It's never the same thing that inspires me to create music. But I read a lot of occult authors' work and they help immensely with where the song should go.

6. Where was your last gig?

We´ve just played at RMF (Royal Metal Fest) in Denmark, which was a blast for us!

7. Where would you like to act?

Anywhere actually. Would love to perform for people all over the globe.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

It's actually not that important for us who we play with. What matters to us is the fucking chemistry and the dedication for the bands to deliver a good show - and have fun during so.

9. Who not?

Bands who think too much of themselves, forgetting how truly tiny they are - forgetting what really matters and how to treat your fans and all the people who are working hard, around them, to make a great show. Couldn´t give a bigger larger flying fuck to those people.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Every time before a show - yes! If you don´t get that punch in your chest before a show, you´re too comfortable. You´re about to perform of course I´m nervous. A good thing is to be prepared and have enough time to relax before - find a quiet space, just before.- a sort of meditation. My problem is we play with a click. Having experience some unfortunate events - It firmly resides in me.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I love to draw inspiration from movie composers. Knowing/listening to Ennio Morricone, I´m very inspired by him. Incredible compositions, he has made over the years. Not to forget Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard - brilliant composers! And also Mike Oldfield which has inspired me all my life - that insane diversity he can perform in his music, just leaves one speechless.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Got two pretty funny. The first was two girls who would have me and the drummer back home with them. To make rituals and make praise in a matter, you can do it... However, we had to decline the offer. The second. If we could sign 12 t-shirts of ours, he bought at our venue, for himself. He would like us to almost paint them, haha But we really appreciate the favors.

13. What do you think of your fans?

The world! They´re the fucking reason we have a name and why we sell our products. Not to forget those people within the music scene, also are doing to help bands. Hopefully, more will come to see what we make and like it. But nothing but respect for our fans.

14. What do you think of our site?

I think it's great! And in this world we live in - you´re needed more than ever, to deliver and announce music.

15. Something to add?

Thanks for the interest - as always SINNRS appreciates the support! Check out the new album DETRAHAMUS - and let´s know what you think. And to you guys - keep up the great work you´re doing!
