Interviews: SilentLie

This is a new interview with the Melancholic Metal band SilentLie from Italy. Check out the interview and follow the band on his FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

We wanted a name sounding like a devious and unexpected concept

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Established in 2005, we were influenced by the rising male-fronted Gothic-Rock movement. But having each member's very different background, we soon decided to follow the hardest path: be ourselves. So we started to write solid riffs, heavy songs with a lot of melody and dark atmospheres.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Luigi and Giorgia were very close friends. Later Davide and Andrea joined the band becoming officially part of the family

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Luigi: Black Sabbath

Giorgia: Cure

Davide: Nightwish

Andrea: Cure

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Music and lyrics are introspective and personal, an analysis of interior conflicts and the dark side.

6. Where was your last gig?

We played our last gig in our hometown Trieste. It was an amazing set, supporting our friends SinHeresy with their new album

7. Where would you like to act?

Everywhere there are passionate people who love music

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We really would like to feature with Tobias Forge

9. Whom not?

With no assholes

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

There should be always a little bit of emotion or fright, we are not robots. We have a nice rite just before getting on the stage: we drink a glass of Tequila altogether!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

They are really too many names, but at least we can say: Ozzy, Ghost, Cure

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We were having a rehearsal and a fan kindly asked us to stop playing since the volume was so high that he couldn’t hear the tv in his apartment…

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are amazing and one of the reasons why we are committed

14. What do you think of our site?

“Breathing the core” is an excellent site, very well structured. A landmark for discovering and promoting new metal artists

15. Something to add?

We wish to thank BTC for the opportunity given to speak about our new album “Equilibrium”. Horns up!
