Interviews: Shroud Of Bereavement

This is a new interview with the Death Metal/Doom Metal band Shroud Of Bereavement from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on his FACEBOOK PAGE

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

Hello, and thank you for your time and support. I was inspired by My Dying Bride and their song "The sexuality Of Bereavement" back in the early nineties.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I've always been into melodic and emotional music, especially King Diamond and his harmonies and storylines. Also classical music, so I thought it was a nice mix. I've never liked happy music, major keys, so I guess I just identify with sadness, as it's one of the real emotions.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I've known the bassist since I was 14, and some other members that are no longer with me.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Honestly, at this point I am the only member, so my favorite band is King Diamond

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I'm mostly inspired by personal experiences, situations, and emotions that I have had. Lost love, lost friends, and family members.

6. Where was your last gig?

We played the Denver Doom fest in 2013 on our "Beers for Tears" tour with Lycanthia.

7. Where would you like to act?

I'd love to play in Europe, especially in Romania, Spain, Sweden, and Norway.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

My Dying Bride, King Diamond, Shape Of Despair.

9. Who not?

Nu metal bands

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

My first gig was a bit scary, we played with Deicide and it was a full house, I remember the adrenaline was so strong that my leg was shaking. Embrace the feeling and use it to crush.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

King Diamond, Metallica, Tiamat, Arcturus, Winds, The Gathering, Anathema, My Dying Bride.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

One guy tattooed my lyrics on his back, it was weird but very cool.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Without fans, there is no production, I have all the respect in the world for anyone who buys my music, and supports music in some way. I look at them as family, there are so many people that I have developed long-lasting relationships with, in fact, that's how I met my wife!

14. What do you think of our site?

It's very cool, I'm just seeing it now, great job, I'll definitely go looking around more after this.

15. Something to add?

Our new record comes out in 4 days, please check it out, like, share, and subscribe!
