Band Biographies: Gallia

Gallia is a female-fronted, 4-headed, Belgian cinematic metal band. Cinematic metal? Yes, this band creates symphonic metal with an amount of epicness and storytelling that would fit a dark fantasy trilogy on the big screen. It combines bombastic orchestration, choir elements, and imaginative lyrics with heavy guitar riffs and hard-hitting drums. It’s a beautiful melting pot of the best of both worlds. It scratches the itch for movie-lovers, fantasy-geeks, and metalheads alike.

On September 2nd, 2022 Gallia will release their first full-length album: Obscura. This album has been 3 years in the making, perfecting every part of it until ultimate epicness is reached. This year, Obscura will be ready for the public. The album has noticeable influences from symphonic metal bands such as Nightwish, Epica, and Xandria but also the theatricality of big composers such as Hans Zimmer and Danny Elfman. This combination is a recipe for greatness and will take listeners on a quest through a newfound world.

The story of Obscura

Obscura will build on the story that was set in place by EP Everflame (released in 2018). Everflame was about the band’s fight against the dark. As long as the fire was burning, there would be hope. It was the band’s duty to keep the flame going, this task was trusted upon them by an ancient Goddess. So they worked hard, during all those years, to keep the fire going and to keep the demons away. At times it was hard, and it felt like the flame would die out. Doubt and trouble crept into their minds, but as long as they stayed together, they would keep the fire going.

Obscura will tell the story of the band finishing their duty with the Everflame and returning to a life of freedom, and finding a different world than the one they left behind. Feeling lost, they set out on travels to rediscover this new world. Every song tells a new part of the world they discover, a much darker world than they had left behind.
