Interviews: American Prophet

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band, American Prophet from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

I was reading a lot about Edgar Cayce "the sleeping prophet" at the time and he was also mentioned as the American Prophet as well. I also take it as an opportunity to make social commentary as the American Prophet in our music.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I had played heavier music when I was younger, mainly post-hardcore, for me the rock sound is what originally inspired me to write, bands like The Deftones, Korn, and Linkin Park meant a lot to me as a kid so this style of music has a huge nostalgia factor for me and other members.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We did. A lot of us were in previous projects together or played shows together with each other's local bands.

4. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I just write what I feel, whatever I need to get off my chest. It's extremely therapeutic to write and record, I've always kind of felt that the dark thoughts and feelings you have can sometimes be left on the paper.

5. Where was your last gig?

The Masquerade in Atlanta with Sevendust

6. Whom would you like to feature with?

Lady Gaga, Drake, Rod Wave, Wu-Tang Clan

7. Whom not?

Anyone that's an asshole

8. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

I feel more comfortable on stage than in the crowd, I've been nervous but never had stage fright. I would say just focus on the fact that you sharing what you are most passionate about with other people, most musicians if like I feel profound loneliness, here is an opportunity to feel a connection.

9. What bands have inspired you the most?

The Deftones, Glassjaw, The Smiths, Korn, At the Drive-In

10. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Toilet paper

11. What do you think of your fans?

Anyone who listens to our music I am forever indebted, It gives me a reason to keep going, it makes me feel less disconnected from the world.

12. What do you think of our site?

I think it's awesome, a great thing you are doing here.

13. Something to add?
