Interviews: Attractive Chaos

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Melodic Metal band, Attractive Chaos from France/Italy. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Emma: The name Attractive Chaos initially came from me. I don’t know why but at that time I was obsessed with the word “Chaos” and I absolutely wanted to put it in the band name. But as our music is not totally chaotic but also melodic, I thought that adding the word “attractive” would be appropriate and appealing.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Emma: Clement and I have a band that now fully dedicates to folk and acoustic. I really missed working on heavy stuff and I wanted to create something new jumping back to my first love.

Pietro: Even if with my two projects melody is important, I felt like I need to explore the genre, even more, especially this time, with a female voice and my mate Clement who’s amazing in orchestral and electronic arrangements.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Emma: Absolutely, I have been working with Clement for almost ten years! I knew Pietro Paolo from his other band Even Flow but only met 2 years ago.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Pietro: For me, Queen undoubtedly remains my favorite band.

Emma: Right now I would say Lacuna Coil

Clement: Eluveitie for me!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Pietro: Honestly it depends on the moment. Surely my beloved ones inspire me a lot, but even going for a walk by sea, going to the park, and seeing nature.

Emma: Concerning the lyrics, I would say: my own experience but also people with inspiring stories

Clément: nothing really specific inspires me, it is more a matter of mood and letting my mind wander, trying new things until I get the spark that starts a good song!

6. Are you gonna play shows as well?

Emma: Yes, that’s the best part of the job! We will play in Paris in January 2023 and probably all over Europe in May 2023.

7. Where would you like to play?

Pietro: Wacken Open Air, Hellfest, Masters of Rock, this would be a dream!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Emma: I love to feature singers that have a complementary voice with mine, especially male voices. We are planning to have guest singers on our future releases but it’s still secret for now!

9. Whom not?

Emma: I guess it would be difficult with people with whom I have no special connection.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Pietro: Honestly no, I would say a lot of adrenaline before starting the show! It is difficult to give advice to new bands approaching the stage, the only thing I can say is to study the songs in the best way and then go and play.

Emma: When I started music I was indeed very stressed before a show. Today my best way to contain this stress is simply to be prepared.

Clément: I have always suffered from stage fright, and I think everyone does at some level. If you have a real problem with it, prepare for every eventuality, have backup plans for each situation and you will feel reassured!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Pietro: The bands that have influenced me the most are Queen, The Police, Dire Straits, Carlos Santana, and Dream Theater's progressive metal, Fates Warning & Queensryche!

Emma: Big symphonic metal bands such as Epica and Nightwish have really inspired me when I started to sing. Today Eluveitie and Lacuna Coil have my heart!

Clément: Always hard to pick! I would say: Eluveitie, Epica, Stratovarius, Pain

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Emma: Honestly they never asked me anything strange! With me, they are always kind and give me gifts or ask me for photos.

Clément: same here, nothing really weird so far!

13. What do you think of your fans?

Emma: I have always had a great relationship with fans. They are really respectful and supportive. Attractive Chaos is a new project so we still need to build a connection with new listeners but I am such they will be the best!

14. What do you think of our site?

Emma: You are doing an amazing job in supporting the underground stage and giving a lot of space to bands regardless of size and notoriety. Thanks for believing in the new metal generation and supporting us!

15. Something to add?

Emma: The single Come to Me is only a sample of the music stuff we are cooking for you guys! Stay tuned as many announcements and much more music will be released soon!

Pietro: I would like to invite all metal lovers to go to shows, to support the metal stage, and to continue to buy CDs as they are the only key to the survival of the bands and the genre!
