Interviews: Paraside

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band, Paradise from the USA/Hungary. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you plan it or came out just like that?

We played with several "classic" band names, however from the beginning we wanted to create something that would make the listener think or raise questions. 

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

All band members listen to rock music. However, we have a wide selection of interests from pretty heavy metal, through progressive all the way to classical music. When you pour all those influences you get something like Paraside. We use these catchy songs to deliver some serious messages.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

Pete and Vic played in a few smaller gigs together in other bands and Matt's Mom was a neighbour of Vic's Mom so they crossed paths a few times in the past. They both love dogs, beers and whiskey so they had their bond immediately.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Wow, that's hard. Can we write more than one? 

Vic: Dance With Dead and Mike Oldfield

Matt: Bring Me The Horizon and Avenged Sevenfold

Pete: Dream Theater and Rush

Danny: Palaye Royale and Polyphia

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We have this theory of every single songwriter tries to communicate something through his/her song that he/she is unable to express by words. Most of the time we write about personal issues that we can relate to. We all went through difficult things in our lives and when you look at the world now there are so many things to talk about.

6. Where was your last gig?

We are yet to play our first gig. We are so excited to get out and meet our fans

7. Where would you like to act?

We would like to meet our fans all around the world. We are mostly from Europe, and we also have lots of fans from the US and South America. So to answer your question a World Tour would be our dream 

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

That's a tough one. Any musician who is doing their best to entertain their fans is respected by us.

9. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

We all do have stage fright as we are maximalists and we want to give our best to our fans. But it also motivates us. Our tip is to rehearse your songs to the point where it becomes muscle memory and then just enjoy the show!

10. What bands have inspired you the most?

Most of the music is coming from Vic and he has inspiration from everywhere including musicals and electronic music. Probably his biggest influence on approaching a song is Mike Oldfield. M.O. can write any style and can stay outside of the box each time he writes an album or a song while still keeping his own style.

11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We are looking forward to the weirdest thing. We have a wicked sense of humour so please challenge us! 

12. What do you think of your fans?

We love them. Many times we engage in personal chats with them through our social media and we are looking forward to bringing some of them to our rehearsals. 

13. What do you think of our site?

Great website and we appreciate featuring us!

14. Something to add?

We all played in bands many years ago but our lives have changed and we got families, etc Now this is our time to go back and do what we like the most, writing and playing music. We are pouring our hearts out to provide some good time to our listeners either through our songs or raise some serious questions through our lyrics.
