Interviews About Albums: IINDIGORE - In The Gore (2022)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Italian Alternative Rock band INDIGORE to ask some questions about their new album "In The Gore"

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

This is our debut album and we felt free to express whatever we wanted without following any pattern linked to previous albums. This is what makes you feel free to experiment and we really enjoyed this first process of building our sound.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

The title “In The Gore” is strictly connected to the name of our band, Indigore. It is like a pun that stands for the essence of what we do that comes from our blood. Sound Experimentations, the topics of the lyrics which dig inside our souls, everything is a synonym of research, this neverending fearless research striving to get to the core in order to reveal our true selves.

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

Dave writes the lyrics, while the band contributes to determining the instrumental parts. All band members have had similar but also very different influences in terms of music and this reflects in the variety of sounds and moods which the fans can appreciate while listening to the different tracks.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

Picking just one song is impossible for us: the heterogeneity between a song and the others creates a sort of bond among them that cannot be ignored. Yes, a song can stand on its own but if you listen to the same song inside the album it is just something different, complete, and, meaningful.

5. Is there a particular message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

Like we said previously, questioning ourselves is something which can be perceived in songs like ‘What are we aiming at?’ and ‘Where are we now?’, but all the other songs are an attempt to find a resonance with the most hidden moods which our daily unrelentingly fast life tends to suppress. We are living the “social age” which shows us perfect lives, positivity taken to toxic levels, an age where even the saddest feelings are labeled and shown in a dry and absolutely unauthentic way. This album might be considered our attempt to find a way out of all this, a strived break to think of ourselves in the most sincere and genuine way.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

We would like to stress a few lines of our last single “Where are we now?”, in the last chorus it goes like this: “All the faces we’ve turned ourselves into, those embraces we’ve tried to hide the truth behind… we’d better break our hearts in two instead of living like we do and our pain fade away”. This all goes back to the lifetime inner fight of trying to be yourself without being afraid of facing the dark side of life.

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

Everything can be seen as an inspiration, but once the magic happens it ain’t no use in trying and recalling the reason why it all happened. Each song will remind the author of a specific moment and emotion and will allow the audience to connect themselves to something they might have lived in their lives and maybe experience it once again. After all it’s all about sensations, emotions, and feelings, right?!

8. Something to add?

We’ve just started to work on new material and it’s very exciting ‘cause this time finally we can do it all together in the same room from time to time. It might sound like a joke I know, but creating music it’s not just about writing new lyrics or creating new harmonies and stuff, it’s mostly about sharing thoughts with your friends, sharing laughs and bad moments, sitting at a bar and talking about problems and new project in life, etc., in the end, it’s all about living and the pandemic showed us that we can survive but surviving it’s not living. Being back in the studio and playing altogether for sure will lead to new creative destinations: we can’t wait to discover them! Let me know if you need anything else.
