Interviews: Preacher

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Preacher from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Shortly after a band lunch, Nate brought up the name and we were all on board. Probably the easiest decision we have made in this band

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We have always been drawn to the energy and intensity of the music and the culture has supported a welcoming and inclusive home for so many different kinds of people.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Stan, Nate, and Chris played music together in a nationally touring band prior to Preacher and Alan played in a professional band at the time as well. All of us came up together in different bands within the Reno music scene and it eventually brought all into the same room.

4. Each band member's favorite band?

Nate: AFI - One of the most intense live shows I have ever seen in my entire life and inspired me to do everything I have ever done with music up until this point in my career. I could listen to them all day every day from now until forever. Would love the opportunity to meet them someday.

Alan: Green Day - I have been listening to this band for my entire life and they really inspired me to get into music on a professional level.

Chris: The Contortionist - Because the guitar players inspire me with their insane talent and confidence portrayed through their playing.

Stan: Periphery - The sheer amount of musical genius in this band is unmatched. I don't think there has ever been a band that has resonated with me more in my whole life. I aspire to be even half the vocalist that Spencer Sotello.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I think real-life experiences, trauma, and the joys/hardships of life are the biggest inspiration for us. Music has been a way for all of us to take the good and the bad things from life and channel them all into one single positive outlet.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was in Roseville, California with A Skylit drive for their hometown's 15-year anniversary. We also got to play with In Chaos, A Moment's Notice, and Ezera

7. Where would you like to act?

We would love to perform in Europe or Japan and get out of the United States and experience all of the things this world has to offer.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Doja Cat because she breaks barriers beyond R&B and rap music and would do amazing things for rock music.

9. Whom not?

Ronnie Radke (goes without explanation) Johnny Craig (goes without explanation)

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

We all do to this day to some extent. We like to picture it as jumping out of a plane: you either stay in the plane and go home, or you jump out of the plane having the experience of a lifetime getting to your destination.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Bands like Architects and The Ghost Inside, not only for their music but the trials and tribulations that they have faced as a band have continued to conquer and rise above. Now they are some of the most massive bands in our genre and they have really paved the way for little guys like us to grow.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We had a guy message all of us asking for money.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are some of the most supportive and loving people we could ever ask for. They are never afraid to go the extra mile to share our music to as many people as possible and bring new friends to our shows. We have gotten so close with some of these people that we now consider them to be family

14. What do you think of our site?

We think breathing the core is a MOST EXCELLENT place for bands like us (and not like us) all over the world to promote their music, showcase their talents and reach new audiences that may have never had the chance to hear them before

15. Something you'd like to add?

Thank you so very much for taking the time to talk to us and give our music a shot! We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to do business with you and hopefully in the future as well!
