Interviews: The Crucifier

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Old School Thrash Metal/Thrash Metal band, The Crucifier from Greece. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Welcome there from Greece and brutal greetings there to my bros, stay healthy there and safe and stay thrash! I am Ilias (Thanatoid) singer from The Crucified. Thanks for your support and greetings there to all the readers of this interview.

The crucifier is an old-school thrash metal band since 1995. My bigger cousin George Kiriazis and I created the crucifier. The name of the band was influenced by a lot of beers and a lot of heavy metal.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I love thrash metal. That's my favorite genre of metal. I think it is the honest genre of metal. We play old-school thrash, that genre is still alive because from 2006 till now we´ve seen a lot of new bands that play that genre.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes  when we were  kids .. we were friends, kids with similar tastes in music same habits, and a lot of madness  for metal and we decided to create the crucifier 

4. Each band member's favorite band?

My favorite bands are Suicidal Tendencies, Napalm Death, Venom, Motorhead, Exodus, and many more.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our lyrics are socio-political, we speak about daily madness and world peace.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was on athens supporting act with M.O.D.at January 2020 

7. Where would you like to act?

What do you mean ???? I really want to play with exodus and violence and razor ..one day in a tour or somewhere as an opening act

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I really admire and want to feature with the following, steve Souza, Rick Hunolt, Igor Cavalera, Max Cavalera, Gordo, Perry Strickland,james murphy, Phil Demmel ,Gary Holt, Scott Ian, Bobbie Gustafson, Dave Lombardo, Felix griffin, dave Hoglan...and many many moreeeeee

9. Whom not? 

I really do not feature... dave Mustaine, rob Flynn, Erick Adams, Phil Anselmo, Jim mutilator, and many many moreeeeee

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Of course no we are not chickens....imagine that the crowd is naked... big key...

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Our major influences are old-school thrash, death metal bands, and hardcore bands.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

One guy asked me if I collect rotten vegetables? aarghhhhhhhhh

13. What do you think of your fans?

Thanks to all our fans ...we are still breathing we spit on those who choose to pose we thrash with all the rest
